AN: Hahaha faustexas ! You honestly think I would leave you on a cliffhanger like that? I am not that mean... or am I?

AN #2: Also, just letting you know, this story might not completely flow in with the other one as this one hasn't been edited yet, which means that there could be some reference to old chapters in the first book that I cut out. I promise I'll try to edit this one as quickly as possible!

Welcome back y'all to this crazy adventure that this series has been so far! I'm so glad that you all decided to move onto this second book after the reading the first one, which I hope you enjoyed. If you haven't read the first book (The Experiment) yet, definitely go to that first or nothing will make sense!

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy!

No one said anything. The alien creature, Safak, stared at us all and I strained my memory to try and remember where I had heard the name before, but my mind was too foggy with pain as I remained in the arms of the raven-haired man. I would have tried to escape from his grasp, but my body was so full of pain that I could barely think clearly. I think it was only the adrenaline that was keeping me conscious.

"Not the reaction I was expecting." The purple creature frowned looking down at all of us. "Maybe you didn't hear me the first time. I am Safak, Son of –".

"Yeah, we heard you the first time." Interrupted the man in the metal suit, waving his hand like he was shooing away a fly. "No need to bore us all over again." His helmet had disappeared, revealing a bruised and scratched face.

Safak swung his gaze over to the metal man, watching him as he continued. "Look, we don't know who your daddy is, and we don't care either. So why don't you go back to wherever you came from and we can all go back home."

"You know, it's quite ironic." Safak chuckled like this whole thing was a joke. "In Earth 616, all of you knew my father's name. You, Iron Man, actually died defending the others here."

He gestured to all of us here and I could sense the confusion in the air growing, which just seemed to make him grin more.

"You were dead." He pointed to the woman in the black clothes with the red hair. "And you were an old man." He pointed to the blonde man the Soldier had been fighting. "The rest of you were alive, or at least for now."

He stepped towards us again and everyone stiffed again, the man Safak had called Iron Man raising his hand defensively.

"But one of you that wasn't in 616 was you." He raised a massive hand and pointed at me, causing the raven-haired man's grip to tighten on me. "I'm curious about you."

"Leave her alone." The man holding me snapped.

"I put in a request for you." He continued like he hadn't heard me. "I had heard of this HYDRA group in 616 making enhanced individuals. Since my father failed to conquer 616, I decided to try my luck here, but build a better, more enhanced army. You're the test run, and I have to say, I'm surprised that you are actually still alive. Many died to get where you are at now, your human DNA is so fiddly. But I am keen to see what you can actually do."

He gestured to Zola standing next to him, who had an iPad in his hands. I stiffened in the arms of the man who was holding me, my heart missing a beat. But before Zola could even do anything, there was a flash of green and everything around me disappeared.

I landed on something soft and I blinked rapidly in fear and tried to clear the darkness in my eyes. Suddenly, everything appeared and I flinched away from the bright lights as I saw someone kneel down in front of me, recognizing it as the man who had been holding me. I looked around sharply, wincing as I moved my bruised and battered body, and saw that I was in a very fancy building with the rest of the Avengers, who had collapsed onto the floor. Something about the place seemed familiar, but I just couldn't place it.
