LOKI'S POV

A projection immediately appeared in the middle of the room and everyone turned to look at it. Emily's face appeared and immediately, I stopped listening to everything else, my eyes locked on her, all I could look at was her face, her eyes, her small smile. As the video progressed, I saw her looking away from the camera more and more, tears filling her eyes and eventually spilling over her flushed cheeks. I looked away from her tears until I finally heard her say something.

"Loki." The recording said and immediately, my head snapped up as I looked at the projection, only to see that she wasn't even looking at the video.

"Thank you...for everything." Her voice wavered slightly. " Thank you for giving me another shot at life. Thank you for rescuing me from HYDRA that day, even though you didn't have to. Thank you for looking out for me when a things got rocky."

She sniffled and the lump in my throat continued to grow, making it harder to breathe. "Thank you for trusting me enough and taking me to Asguard to help me regain control of myself. Thank you for always healing us when I got myself or the other's hurt. Thank you for being the best friend who always stuck by me during tough times, I'm sorry I couldn't stay here for you."

She took in another shaky breath, and I turned away from the video, looking at her faintly breathing body as she continued to speak.

"I'm sorry for everything guys." She sniffled. "I'm sorry that I was such a liability and a danger to you. I know you all wished that I could get better and things could be different, but I'm too damaged to heal properly. I'm sorry for all of the times I hurt you, I'm sorry for everything I damaged. I'm sorry for being such a burden, and I hope that now I'm gone, you can all go back to normal lives and you won't face any more issues from HYDRA because of me."

I managed to look up at the video again and saw her looking back, her eyes all red and puffy.

"I hope that you guys are better off now." She smiled weakly. "Thank you, and I am sorry."

The video disappeared, leaving the whole Lab in silence. There were sniffles and plenty of tears, especially from Potts, who was crying freely onto Stark's shoulder.

"So she tried to take her own life." Wanda whispered, looking up with red-rimmed eyes. There wasn't a single dry eye in the room anymore, except for Barnes, Thor and I, and I was struggling to stop my eyes from watering. Thor just looked like he badly wanted to kill everything and everyone.

"She's going to be okay though." Said Clint, his voice strained. "Isn't she?"

"She used a blade infused with poison." Barnes said, his metal arm clicking as he fisted his hand. "It's a paralyzing poison, when we stabbed a victim with it, it knocked out everything inside them, rendering them unconscious for several hours, sometimes putting them in a coma. When they did wake up, they would die of blood loss from the wound, if they hadn't already."

There was another sob from Potts and I watched Stark out of the corner of my eye as he wrapped her in a tighter hug. I looked back down at Emily and rubbed my face in exhaustion, sitting down on the chair next to her.

"Can we heal the wound though?" Asked Banner, swiping through a collection of projections, his face determined.

"You can try." Barnes replied before looking up at me with his arms crossed.

"I've already tried." I croaked slightly, clearing my throat before I continued. "Her body seems to resist the healing."

"That would be the poison." Barnes murmured, looking down at Emily. "It was designed to spread rapidly and take down the victims quickly and cleanly."

"Well how do we stop it?" Asked Stark, looking over Potts' head. Barnes stayed silent and Stark looked away. Everyone fell silent again, looking down at Emily's body.

"We had to try something." Said Thor, speaking for the first time. "We can't let her die."

"Its poison Point Break." Stark said, looking over at him dully. "It will be hard to get it out of her bloodstream, especially with how potent it is."

"You're not trying though!" Burst Thor loudly, causing everyone in the room to jump, including me. I hadn't seen him this upset in quite a long time. "You won't know until you try!"

"I can try to add antibiotics to her drip." Banner spoke up, seeming somewhat afraid of Thor. "They won't be able to clean out all of the poison, but it may help to stabilize her."

"You can also try and heal the stab wound." Barnes added. "That way when she wakes up from the poison, she won't die from the stab wound."

"But Reindeer Games can't heal the wound." Stark said, giving Barnes a dead look.

"You know there are other ways to heal other than magic." Barnes shot back a withering look.

Stark's eyes to widened and he nodded, gently setting Potts down as he stood up. He walked over to the projections that Banner was standing in front of before he walked over to the drawers and began to rummage around in it.

"So what do we use?" He asked, his back facing all of us. "Bandages? Stitches?"

"Something like that." Banner replied and I rolled my eyes at how reliant Stark was on technology and me to heal people, to the point where he had forgotten how to heal someone like normal.

I immediately conjured up several bandages, string and a needle, moving it over to the two scientists, they looked at me in surprise before stitching up the materials and immediately getting to work.

I stayed next to Emily the whole time, helping Stark whenever I could, while Banner fiddled with the drip bag as he added in antibiotics, trying to ignore the gazes of everyone behind me.

Eventually, Emily was all stitched up and the bleeding had mostly stopped, but she didn't look any different. Stark managed to convince everyone else to leave and somewhat reluctantly let me stay and watch Emily.

It was still early in the morning and eventually Banner and Stark had to go to bed, even though Stark said that he probably wouldn't be able to sleep properly. Banner gave me detailed instructions on what to do on the rare off chance that she woke up or if she started to bleed through the bandages.

As soon as they were gone, I drew the chair closer to her head and sat down next to her in it.

"I can't believe that she would do something like this." A voice spoke up and squeezed my eyes shut in annoyance as I recognised it as Thor, my heart pounding hard in my chest from the suddenly release of adrenaline.

"What are you doing here?" I muttered, watching him out of the corner of my eye as he stepped forward to stand next to me.

"I can see how you look at her, brother." He said, looking directly at Emily. I didn't say anything, and he looked down at me. "If she manages to survive this, please take care of her."

"You doubt me?" I demanded, narrowing my eyes at him.

"I don't want to loose her, brother." Thor looked back at Emily. "She's like a sister to me."

"I'm not your brother." I muttered and he sighed before turning around, the sound of the Laboratory door shutting echoed around me.
