EMILY POV

I slowly opened my eyes, tiredly rubbing at them as I tried to rub away the fuzziness from them. I slowly sat up, no doubt looking like something that had just risen from the dead as I looked around in confusion to find I was in my room. The last thing I remembered was being in the car on the way back from the amusement park. Surely it hadn't been that long.

"JARVIS." I swallowed back a yawn. "How did I get back here?"

"Mr. Laufeyson brought you back." He replied.

I slowly pulled the sheets off me, relieved to find that I hadn't been changed out of my clothes. I grabbed my phone that had been set on my bedside table and rubbed my eyes as the numbers 8:11 stared back at me.

I knew a cold shower would be the best thing to wake me up and as I stood under it, shivering as my brain began to kick into gear, I couldn't stop myself from replaying last night over and over in my head. I walked out with a big, stupid grin on my face, changing into a pair of loose track pants and an oversized jumper before I walked down the staircase, inhaling the wonderful smell of scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns and those little mini sausages.

"Well someone's very happy this morning." Tony called out from the head of the table, grinning at me as I sat down at my seat.

"That was my first trip out in quite a long time." I shrugged, reaching across the table and stacking up several pieces of bacon and eggs on my plate. "So, why shouldn't I be happy?"

He chuckled softly and looked back at his food. As I dug into mine, I felt Loki's hand brush against my leg and I choked slightly on a piece of toast, not expecting the sudden contact.

"Sorry." He smiled down at me, his voice a gentle murmur compared to the conversations around the table. "I just wanted to say good morning."

"Good morning." I replied, painfully swallowing back the piece of toast.

"How are you feeling?" He took a bite of his food.

"Pretty good." I grinned up at him and he chuckled softly.

I wanted to keep talking to him, the warm humming feeling in my chest pulling me towards him, but I knew that if I really did want to announce... whatever we were to the others, I had to wait for the right time, and now wasn't it.

The rest of the day was a relaxed one, I trained with Bucky a little after breakfast but spent the rest of the day either curled up with Loki in the privacy of the library or sitting watching a movie with the girls.

None of us were really paying attention to what we were watching. I was bundled up in blankets on the arm of the couch, looking at Wanda who was squished between me and Nat.

"Sooo." I suddenly straightened to dig my phone out of my back pocket, suddenly remembering the photo I had taken last night in the car. "You can Steve."

I flipped my phone around to show her the photo and she immediately. Lunged at me, her face dropping. Wanda squeaked as she was suddenly squashed underneath Nat.

"Delete that." She struggled against Wanda, glaring at me.

"Nope." I grinned, pressing myself further against the arm of the couch.

"Then how about you talk about Loki?" She challenged. "All the times you sneak off together? All the laughing? Hmm?"

"For a start, we're reading in the library." I tried to fight the burning in my face. "We're not sneaking off anywhere."

"How about we have a truce?" Wanda suggested as I wrapped myself up tighter in the blankets.

"Fine." I mumbled.

"Fine." Nat echoed, the blush on her cheeks slowly beginning to fade away.

"But I'm not deleting the photo." I couldn't help but add.

"Are you okay?" Loki asked from where he was sitting on the edge of my bed as I roughly towel dried my hair. "I saw Maximoff and Romanoff questioning you before."

"I'm fine." I shook my head, giving him a small smile as I sat down next to him, the damp towel in my lap as I lent into him. "I'm use to them being like that."

"Did you end up telling them?" He gently wrapped on arm around me, resting his head against my damp hair that was loosely spilling down my shoulders.

"No." I sighed. "It didn't feel like the right time. I was too busy teasing Nat about Steve."

"That's okay." He rubbed my waist slightly and as I shifted in surprise at the intimate touch, he immediately pulled his hand back and put it on the bed behind me. "There's no pressure, remember?"

"I know." I nodded, twisting to smile up at him.

"I should let you get to sleep." He pressed a gentle kiss to my forehead and I couldn't stop my cheeks from heating, causing him to chuckle as he stood up. "You're adorable."

"Loki." I groaned, covering up my tomato-red face with the damp towel.

"Learn to take a compliment Em." He chuckled again, peeling the towel away from my face slightly. "You'll be getting a lot of them." He gently tucked some of my hair behind my ear.

"Loki." I sighed, reluctantly dropping the towel back into my lap. "It's embarrassing."

"Do you want me to stop?" He raised an eyebrow, lips twitching slightly.

"No." I admitted softly, unable to deny that I liked his attention.

"Goodnight Em." He huffed out a laugh, walking over to my door.

"Goodnight Loki." I offered him a soft smile back before he gently shut the door behind me, leaving me sitting in a bubble of embarrassment.
