I knew that despite the girl's attempts to try and cheer me up, it was going to be a rough night. I had kind of hoped that the chocolate coma Nat had put me in would have given me an easy sleep, but barely an hour after I actually lay down on my bed, the nightmare was in full force.

I was standing in my room, still in the dress from the Christmas party, the lamp on the bedside table the only source of light in the room. I slowly looked around, but I could barely see a step in front of me, the lamp not lighting up the whole room. As I turned back around to the lamp, the sound of footsteps echoed behind me and I spun back around, my breath catching.

"Hello?" I called out softly, my eyes darting around in the darkness.

The footsteps stopped and I swallowed thickly, feeling the prickle of my fire under my hands as I slowly lit up my palm, trying to break apart the darkness to see who was there.

"Put the fire out." A voice murmured next to my ear, a warm breath tickling my neck but when I jumped and threw out my flaming hand, there was no one there.

"Who are you?" I spun in a slow circle, lighting my other hand on fire too as the unfamiliar voice chuckled darkly.

"Don't resist." The voice basically purred. "It'll be much better that way."

"Don't resist what?" I couldn't help but ask, my heart rate picking up.

Before I could even spin around again, a solid force shoved both my shoulders sent me toppling backwards. I threw out my hand to break my fall, but instead of landing on the hard carpeted floor, I collapsed back onto my bed, my head hitting the pillows. I tried to scramble upright, but a figure came stalking out of the shadows, shoving me back down.

"Its all right." They murmured. "It'll be good."

I immediately began to squirm under their hands pinning my arms to the bed and my eyes darted up to their face only to see with a suddenly dropping stomach that it was Loki. His lips were curled up in a chilling smirk that I had never seen before, his normally soft green eyes smirking with evil intent. I stared up at him in horror before I began to thrash around again, my heart pounding too fast to be healthy.

"Shh." He chuckled darkly as I couldn't stop a shaky sob coming out of my mouth. "I told you, resist and it'll hurt a lot less."

"Let me go." I continued to struggle, not caring that his fingers were digging into the fragile bones in my wrist.

"So disobedient." He muttered, raising his hand for one second, the green light of his magic coating it as he flicked his fingers, my whole body locking up immediately.

I tried to thrash around again, but my body was completely still and stared up at him again, causing him to chuckle softly.

"Now isn't this better." He smirked. "You're better this way."

I opened my mouth to scream, but he immediately put his hand over my mouth, shoving my head back into the pillows, his eyes flashing dangerously as I struggled to breathe though my nose. I desperately tried to lift my hands, needing to shove him off me, but the magic he was using to keep me trapped was strong. It even somehow managed to suffocate my fire.

His head bent down, his breath hot on my neck seconds before his mouth began to attack my neck, his tongue sliding over my sweating skin as he shoved my head to the side with the same hand that was still hovering my mouth. My breaths began more rapid through my nose, my eyes wide as nausea churned in my stomach. His teeth nipped and tugged at my skin, leaving a stinging mark behind.

"So touchy." His voice murmured in my ears, causing a shudder to travel through my paralyzed body.

His free hand began to drift up to my thigh, pushing up my dress, smirking as my eyes widened more, a couple of tears falling free and dripping down the side of my face.

"This won't be quick." He chuckled. "I'll take my time."

I bolted upright, my chest heaving as I took in gulping breaths of air, my fire twisting and thrashing under my skin as my fingers dug into the bedsheets. Sweat made my hair cling to my face and I shakily wiped it away, my body trembling. Suddenly, my door burst open, Wanda standing there with wide eyes.

"Emily." She breathed, her eyes darting over my teary cheeks and my heavy breathing. "Are you okay? JARVIS said you were having a nightmare."

"Yeah." I croaked, my voice shaking as I swallowed the choking lump in my throat.

"Want to talk about it?" She breathed out a little, seeming to relax a little at hearing me speak, leaning against the doorway.

"No really." I murmured softly, exhaling heavily as I ran my shaky hands though my air, hunching over as I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to shove back the memories.

"Do you want a hug?" She offered, stepping into my room and sitting on the edge of my bed, giving me a soft smile.

"No." I shook my head, holding up one of my hands that was bubbling orange under the skin.

"Probably a smart move." She softly. "Do you want a hot chocolate then?"

"Can't say no to that." I cracked a weak smile, nodding.

I ended up having to send Wanda back to bed because she was determined to stay awake with me. We had already gone through several hot chocolates, and I knew the sugar in that combined with my nightmares, I wouldn't be getting back to sleep.

So instead, I settled down on the couch with my book, the lamp next to me the only source of light in the whole lounge room. I managed to get through quite a bit of it before Bucky came downstairs at around 4 o'clock. I looked up at him for a moment, offering him a small smile, which he nodded to, before he disappeared out into the training rooms.

Steve was the next up, already dressed in his running clothes.

"You all good Emily?" He asked as he grabbed a glass of water.

"Yeah." I nodded, smiling softly.

"What time did you get down here?" He pressed, raising an eyebrow.

"I can't remember." I murmured sheepishly.

"Emily." He sighed, putting his now empty class on the sink and walking over to me, sitting on the arm of the chair opposite to me. "You've got to sleep. Buck can get away with it, but... no offence, but he's kind of in a better state than you."

"I know." I sighed softly, putting down my book to draw my knees up to my chest, resting my chin on top of them. "It was just a nightmare tonight, I haven't had one in a little while, I promise."

"What was it about?" He asked gently.

"The... thing that happened at HYDRA." I murmured softly, looking away for a moment.

"I'm sorry." He offered me another small smile. "Do you want to talk about it?"

"No, not really." I murmured, before I took a deep breath. "You should get to training, I don't want to keep you."

"Remember, you can talk to me whenever you want though." He slowly stood up. "Okay?"

"Okay." I nodded, smiling weakly before he squeezed my hand softly and walked away.
