For the first time in a very long time, I slept past 9 o'clock. The sunlight coming through a thin gap in the curtains didn't even manage to wake me. One moment I was dead asleep, and the next I was blinking groggily. It was one of the best ways I had ever woken up.

Rubbing my eyes, I slowly sat up and stretched as I started at the clock on the wall in awe. I slipped out of bed, not even feeling that exhausted, and tied back my ruffled hair with a hair tie I found on the ground. I opened up my door, only to find a figure sitting on the floor next to it outside in the hallway, their knees drawn up to their chest. They looked up at me as the door creaked open and my hand slipped from the door handle as my eyes widened.

"Good morning sweetheart."

"Loki!" I launched myself at him, causing him to stumbled back a couple of steps as I hugged him so tightly.

His arms snaked around me as he chuckled, picking me up to bring me up to his height more. I wrapped my legs above his hips and squeezed my eyes shut as I buried my head into his chest, breathing him in. He squeezed me tightly and hide his face in my neck, one hand gripping the back of my head as he ran his hands through my hair. Tears burned at my eyes and I forced them back with a painful swallow.

"I missed you darling." He murmured, his voice wobbling and slightly muffled.

"I missed you too." I whispered, hands digging into the back of his shirt, like I was scared of ever letting him go.

"I'm sorry for leaving you like that." He pulled his head back, brushing my hair away from my face as he held my cheek, eyes flicking rapidly over my face. "Are you okay?"

"I should be the one asking you that." I choked out a laugh before my eyes widened. "Oh my god, your stomach."

I hurriedly uncurled my legs from him, dropping back to the ground as my eyes flicked over the shirt covering his stomach. Some relief spread through me when I didn't notice any spots of blood, but I was still worried.

"It's okay." He smiled. "I'm all healed. I did it myself." He lifted up his shirt, exposing his muscled stomach.

My eyes flicked over the clear skin, occasionally freckled by a few scars or other blemishes, a relieved breath escaping my lips when I didn't see any sign of bullet wounds or marks. My eyes darted back up to him and he dropped his shirt, pulling me in close to him again.

"I wanted to come see you earlier." He murmured as I buried my head into him again, barely holding back the tears as I savoured the familiar feel of his body. "But you were sleeping, so I thought it was best to wait out here."

"How long have you been waiting?" I looked up at him, my chin resting on his chest as I looked up at him.

"Since about 7:30." He replied and my eyes widened.

"Loki! You didn't have to wait that long!" I protested. "You should have just come and woken me up."

"I wasn't going to do that." His eyebrows furrowed like he was offended I had even suggested the idea. "Wanda said she had to help you sleep, so I knew you were going to be having a really nice sleep. I wasn't going to disturb that."

"I don't care." I snorted. "If I knew you had woken up, I would have been there is seconds."

"That just proves my point." He snorted, gently brushing my hair back.

"Well you could have at least waited in my room on one of the chairs for me to wake up." I suggested. "You could have even sat on the bed if you really wanted. Any of them would be more comfortable than sitting on the floor for and hour and a half."

"And scare you when you saw a male figure sitting in your bed the moment you woke up?" He raised an eyebrow. "That isn't the most pleasant way to wake."

"True." I murmured softly, swallowing before I looked up at at him weakly. "Thank you for thinking of that."

"Of course." He smiled softly. "Now, do you want to have a shower first or have breakfast first?"

"Shower." I replied after a moment. "I probably look like a mess."

"A very beautiful one, if that's what you think." He grinned, bending down slightly to kiss my forehead.

"Loki." I whined as my cheeks heated up, giving him a levelled look.

"I have to make up for lost time darling." He chuckled.

"It was like a day." I huffed, my heart already pounding again.

"I'm offended that you didn't miss me more." He raised an eyebrow, a smile still playing on his lips.

"I'm going to go have a shower." I muttered, moving towards my cupboard and pulling out my training clothes.

"I'll be waiting." He moved over to the bed, sitting down on it with a grin, to which I replied with sticking my tongue out as I shut the bathroom door.

The shower was warm and refreshing, not that I needed it with the wonderful sleep Wanda had put me into. I quickly slipped into my leggings and tight cropped top that I had only just begun to gain the confidence to wear. It was a lot more convenient then the loose top I normally wore but even thought it only showed the faintest slither of my stomach, it still sometimes felt like I was standing naked to the world.

"Looking beautiful as always." Loki's words were almost instant as I nudged open the door, trying to braid my hair.

"You barely got the chance to look at me." I snorted softly, nudging open my cupboard to slip on my joggers.

"I didn't have too." He stood up, straightening out the creases in my bed and it was only at that point that I realised he had made it for me. "I just know."

"Thank you for making my bed." It was a desperate attempt to try and drive the conversation away from the endless compliments that were probably making me look like a tomato.

"Its okay." He chuckled, clearly seeing straight through my attempt, but thankfully didn't push it. "Come on, are you ready for breakfast yet?"

I nodded and tied off my hair with a hair band before I opened my door to the hallway, letting him shut it behind me. We walked down the stairs together and I was a little startled when I saw that it was completely empty.

"Everyone is training." He chuckled. "It is like almost 9:30 Em."

"True." I murmured, walking over to the fridge and opening it up to thankfully find some left over pancakes, which I popped in the microwave to warm up. "Are you going to come down too after breakfast?"

"Maybe." He shrugged, leaning against the kitchen bench. "But should you really be training? You've had a big couple of days." His eyebrows furrowed in concern as he looked down at me.

"Training will help to take my mind of things." I nodded, pulling the pancakes out of the microwave and putting them on a plate for both of us.

"Just don't push yourself too much." He carefully picked up his plate, wrapping his arm around my waist and drawing me closer as he gently kissed me on the head before we curled up together on the couch.
