Recommended Song: Sky Full of Stars (Coldplay)
The fireworks were over way too quickly and we were all left in the dark again. I blinked a couple of times and suddenly sat up from where I had been leaning against Loki, cheeks heating. He chuckled and slowly pulled his arm back from where it had been resting against my shoulders, which only made me blush more.
The others slowly stood up and we began to make our way back towards the carpark, along with the large swarming crowds. We all tried to stay as close as possible to Thor, who clearly stuck out in the crowds.
The gates finally came into view, but at the same time, I noticed the Ferris Wheel lit up in all sorts of colours that flashed different patterns along the arms. I stared at it in awe before my eyes darted over to Tony.
"Can I go on the Ferris Wheel?" I called out to him eagerly and he looked over his shoulder at me.
"Its late Emily." He shook his head. "Everyone is tired and we need to get home through lots of traffic yet."
"Please?" I almost begged, my eyes flicking up to the Ferris Wheel again. "It looks so beautiful at night and I would be able to get really nice photos up there too.
"I can take her." Loki interrupted as Tony began to open his mouth. "I still have some of your Midgardian money. We can meet you back at the car."
"Sure Reindeer Games." Tony yawned, turning back around to Thor. "Just don't be long."
"Come on Em." He put a hand on my back and gently steered me through the crowds.
"Thank you." I smiled, looking up at him. "I promise we only have to go around it once. I just want to get some nice photos."
"We can go around as many times as you want." He shook his head. "It's okay."
He guided me up the ramp to where the exhausted-looking attendant gave us our tickets, which we handed over to the equally tired attendant standing at the bottom of the Ferris Wheel. He opened up the door of one of the pod-looking things once it had stopped moving. Loki let me step in first and I slowly sat down on the wooden bench, looking around the inside of it in awe.
Along the part where the roof met the edge of the glass, there were warm golden string lights that lid up the whole pod thing. The benches were made of a pale polished wood and it faintly smelt like fairy floss.
After Loki had climbed in and was sitting on the bench opposite me, the attendant shut the door and stepped back as the ride suddenly jolted and began to move off. I squeaked at the jolt before immediately covering my mouth, going bright red. Loki just chuckled and shook his head.
I looked out of the glass panels and stared at everything in amazement; I could almost see the whole showground as the ride kept moving up. As we began to reach the top, I pulled out my phone and quickly took a couple of photos. At the very top, I spotted a large tree not far from the Ferris Wheel completely covered in gold LED lights, making it look like it had been drenched in gold. It was really beautiful.
We went around three times, which Loki insisted really wasn't that much money, before the ride stopped, leaving us at the very top of the ride. I looked down through the glass and saw more people hopping into a pod down the bottom. I looked back up and saw Loki watching me, a faint smile on his face.
"What?" I asked. "Do I have chocolate on my face?"
I quickly tried wiping around my mouth with my sleeve to get rid of the piece of chocolate.
"No." He chuckled softly, shaking his head gently. "It's the moonlight. It makes you look absolutely stunning. You look like you're glowing."
I quickly looked down and saw that there was moonlight covering my fingers. I blushed and smiled softly, gently biting my lip as my hair fell around my face. He leaned forward and gently put a finger under my chin, gently tilting it back up until I was looking at him. I stared straight into his green eyes, watching the soft uncertainty churn in them among the flickering reflections of the golden lights around us. His hand drifted to my hair and he gently tucked some of it behind my ear, his touch so gentle and soft, causing my cheeks to feel like they were on fire. He smiled softly and kept his hand on my cheek, the butterflies going crazy in my stomach as I couldn't help but focus on how his tough skin brushed against mine.
"Is this okay?" He asked softly, eyes flicking between mine.
I nodded, trying to swallow back the thick lump in my throat as I couldn't help but stare straight back at him.
"Words." He murmured. "I don't want to stuff this up again."
"Yes." I basically had to choke the words out, my heart ready to burst out of my chest. "You... you didn't stuff up, last time I mean. Please... please don't think like that."
"You ran away." He pointed out softly, fingers gently rubbing my cheek as he breathed out softly. "I triggered that horrific memory."
"Well, I'm not running away now." I daringly pointed out and his fingers stilled on my cheeks.
"Em..." He began, his throat bobbing as he swallowed thickly too as I practically saw his brain running a million miles an hour.
"It's okay." I reminded him, my lips softly curving into a smile as I looked up at him, everything else around us a blur.
"Are you sure?" Uncertainty flickered in his stunning green eyes and the sight of it tugged something in my heart.
"Unless you... you don't want to." The thought suddenly hit me and I pulled back slightly, blinking rapidly as I realised how I could have completely misread the situation. But his hand quickly began to stroke my cheek again like he tried to stop me from moving.
"Of course I want to." He shook his head, chuckling. "You really think I'm holding you like this for no reason?"
I smiled weakly and blushed, hyperaware of his cool skin against my burning face.
"I just want this to be nice for you." He murmured, looking straight at me. "I want you to remember this more than... than the first one."
"I promise." I reached up with my hand, and gently put it over his hand on my cheek. "It's okay."
He nodded and slowly leaned forward, eyes darting between mine. He paused, his breath gently brushing over my lips and I gave him a small smile, leaning forward too. Before his thoughts could talk him out of it, I closed my eyes and gently pressed my lips against his.
It was as amazing as the first time as I remembered it, his lips were cool and soft against mine as we both sat there. I had no idea what I was doing, but thankfully he didn't hesitate to move his lips against mine. It felt like those amazing fireworks from before were now exploded in my stomach as I melted under his touch. He gently ran his finger along my cheek as we kissed, causing my breath to hitch slightly and I felt him smile against my lips.
"You promise this is okay?" He pulled back, my lips buzzing as his eyes flicked over me again.
"It's more than okay." I breathed and he chuckled before gently tugging me forward again.
