October 25th - Prompt: Flashback
----------
"This isn't fair Peter," Edmund murmured, shaking his head slowly. "I can't do this much longer."
"Then don't." Peter snapped back, turning to glare at his brother, who was inspecting a bruise on his shoulder in their bedroom mirror. "I never ask you to jump in and save me, so just don't do it."
Edmund snorted. "So you're telling me to leave you be whilst you're being beaten up by a group of guys?" He muttered. "Not likely."
Peter's glare got harder. "I am quite capable of handling myself." He muttered.
"If you were capable of that, You wouldn't be getting into random fights at the park." Edmund told him, referring to yesterday's fights where he had gotten the bruise on his shoulder.
"It wasn't random," Peter shot back quietly. "They all had it coming."
Edmund rolled his eyes, not even bothering to ask at this point and only sighing a little. "Look," He breathed. "I only try to help Peter. You know me, you know I won't just sit back and watch my brother get hurt without doing something about it, so maybe take that into mind next time you decide to punch someone for looking at you funny."
Peter didn't look happy at all, and he wasn't bothering to hide just how he was feeling. "Maybe you should learn to stay out of things that don't concern you," He growled. "You're always in the wrong place at the wrong time and it does my head in."
Edmund grabbed his shirt and slipped it on, shaking his head a little. "We're going back to school in two weeks Peter," He said, ignoring his brother's comment. "Perhaps it's time you buck your ideas up, the teachers weren't overly happy with you last term, always starting fights and getting into trouble."
Peter snorted. "Bet you loved that though didn't you." He muttered.
Edmund raised an eyebrow. "What's that supposed to mean?" He asked.
Peter glared at him. "Bet you loved that I was finally the one getting into trouble instead of you," He replied. "I bet you were relieved that someone else got all the punishment for being stupid."
Edmund took a deep breath, "I changed Peter," He said firmly. "For the better. You on the other hand, well I have no clue what's gotten into you over the last year, I only know that I really don't like it."
Peter rolled his eyes. "If I hear this talk one more time-" He grumbled, turning away.
"It's true though," Edmund told him. "We're all getting sick of it, I'm getting sick of it, I'm black and purple Peter, don't you care?"
There was a hint of sadness in Edmund's voice at the question, but Peter only whirled back around to glare at him. "Like I said before, you wouldn't be black and purple if you just stayed out of things, so stay out of it!" He cried.
Edmund swallowed hard at Peter's raised voice. "I hate this new you," He almost spat. "Just look what you've become Peter."
"Oh, like you can talk." Peter muttered.
Edmund hesitated. "What?"
"You were worse." Peter hissed. "You were much worse and you know it."
