October 31st - Prompt: Sick

"Whoever the new cook is is brilliant." Susan complimented as the four sat eating their dinner one evening.
Lucy chuckled. "I do miss the old cook though." She admitted.
"Of course," Susan breathed, before turning to Peter, who instead of eating was scribbling notes down on a small pad he had. "Peter, can't you put that down for half an hour?"
Peter glanced up at her, sighing. "I'm nearly finished, gimme a sec." He told her, before going back to scribbling.
Susan rolled her eyes, but waited patiently for him to remove the paper from the table, before nodding slowly. "Now eat." She said. "Your food's probably cold by now."
"Nah, it'll be fine." Peter breathed, grabbing a fork and tucking in.
"Ed you're gonna choke on your food if you keep eating that quickly." Lucy piped up, frowning at her brother.
Edmund stopped dead, swallowing the mouthful he had before smiling. "I promised Philip a ride before dark." He said.
"Did you now?" Peter said, turning to face Edmund.
Edmund rolled his eyes. "And I will be home before dark." He muttered. "I swear it."
Peter stared at him for a while, before slowly nodding. "Alright," He murmured. "But if you're not, I won't let you leave the castle for a week."

"Just in time."
Edmund rolled his eyes as he walked into his room, spotting Peter sat at his desk. "It's still light out." He muttered, smirking.
Peter chuckled gently, before frowning a little. "You feeling okay Ed?" He asked. "You're looking a little pale."
"It's cold outside." Edmund told him, rubbing his hands together as he wandered over to the fire burning in the corner of the room.
Peter nodded slowly. "Well, warm yourself up." He said quietly. "And then I reckon we should raid the kitchen for a snack."
"Or we could just ask?" Edmund suggested, eyebrow raised at his older brother.
Peter shook his head and smirked. "Nah," He replied. "I prefer my way."
Edmund smiled weakly. "Of course you do." He breathed, before shaking his head in amusement and turning back to the fire.

- The next evening -
"What we doing for your birthday then Su?" Peter asked as they sat eating.
Susan smiled. "Lucy's planning something apparently." She told him. "Although it's not for another three weeks."
Peter turned to Lucy. "What you planning then?" He asked.
Lucy grinned. "It's a secret." She whispered. "But it's gonna be great!"
Susan laughed. "I'm sure it will be." She breathed, voice quiet as she turned back to her food.
