Part 1:
Chapter 2 –
October 18th, 1995
Emilia glanced towards Hermione, watching as she straightened her tie, knotting and reknotting it over three times, until it was perfection. She giggled slightly when Hermione playfully sent her a glare in the mirror.
"You know, just because we live in the same dorm, and have spent the last 2 weeks together getting to know eachother, as well as me teaching you all about Hogwarts, does not mean that you can make fun of me," Hermione playfully narrowed her eyes at Emilia.
She had been here exactly 16 day, 2 hours, and 18 minutes, give or take a few. And yes, Emilia had counted how long, because she was slowly starting to die of boredom. Although Professor Dumbledore had clearly mentioned that he wanted her to start at Hogwarts, he failed to slip in that he wanted her to take a little time to get settled and acquainted with her schoolmates first. And what Hermione had successfully told her, was that even though she was free to meet people, the bushy haired girl wanted to wait for her to meet her two best mates, Ron Weasley and Harry Potter, until she was sure that Emilia was all settled in. According to Hermione, they were a handful.
So, per everyone's wishes, Emilia spent her time making friends with Hermione and reading as much on Hogwarts and magic that she could. She had a handful of sessions with Professor Dumbledore throughout the time she had spent here so far, and learned the new ways of the wizarding world, including gaining more insight on the Dark Lord. Thankfully, some memories were already starting to seep into her mind, simple ones, like remembering areas of the castle that she had never been to before, recognizing the names of Professors, and how to successfully do most spells. But the things that mattered most to her, were still locked away somewhere that she had no access to.
Emilia walked towards Hermione, pulling pieces out of her bun to frame her face as she said, "Yes, but seeing as I don't remember anyone, as well as adding in that you are the only one I have met so far.... Well, besides those laughing gits Parvati and Lavender, I officially announce you as one of my friends."
Hermione blushed, grabbing a hold of Emilia's hand as she dragged her towards the entrance of the Gryffindor girl's dorm, rushing her down the stairs to the common room, something that Emilia had only seen a handful of times.
"Well, now it is finally time for you to meet Harry and Ron! Professor Dumbledore said you should be all settled and ready to start classes today." She excitedly laughs and continued to pull the shocked girl through the Gryffindor entrance, "You are going to love the boys! Well, maybe not Ron because he can be quite a git sometimes, and Harry seems to somehow draw trouble towards him, but other than that, they really are the best."
Emilia grinned as Hermione finally seated them at the Gryffindor table in the main dinning room. Having seen it on the first night of her stay here – due to Hermione's tour – she immediately decided that, that night did not do the hall justice. The floating candles, swarms of students from all different houses, the professors sitting atop, and the enormous amounts of food, was something so marvelous that Emilia was having trouble wrapping her head around it.
Thankfully she didn't have to dwell on it all much longer as Hermione pinched her arm, turning her towards the seats across from her, "Emilia! This is Ron," She pointed towards the red head male with freckles dusted across his cheeks, cheeks that were already stuffed with food as he grinned at Emilia with a wide mouth.
Hermione and Emilia both gave eachother a look of disgust before Emilia politely said hello to Ron.
Ron swallowed the mouthful of food before saying, "nice to meet you, Emilia. Hermione blabbered a lot about you, and as long as you're not a know it all like 'Mione sometimes, then I think we will get along great."
