Part 2:
Chapter 9 –
April 2nd, 1974
"Gideon, what did you get for number 5 on the transfiguration homework," Lily asked the red headed boy.
The four students, Lily and Lia plus Gideon and Fabian Prewett, twins who were also third years in Gryffindor, were sat in the library completing their homework for the week.
Lia watched as Gideon flipped back to the page that Lily had mentioned, telling her that he got b for the answer. Lily nodded in thanks before turning back to her homework.
"So, are you guys planning on going to Hogsmeade later today?" Fabian asked as he placed his quill down.
Lia nodded, chewing on her sugar quill.
"Lily wanted to grab more parchment for the semester, so we might go for an hour or two," Lia stated, pushing her homework away.
They had been studying for hours, and Lia's hand was starting to cramp from all the work she was doing.
Fabian sighed, looking towards his brother who was already staring back at him.
"We were only wondering because," Fabian trailed off, nervously twiddling the necklace around his neck.
Gideon pitched in for his brother, "because Fabian was hoping that Marlene would be going."
Lily looked up at this, dropping her quill at the words. Looking towards one another, they both felt excitement.
"Do you fancy Marlene?" Lia teased, poking Fabian with the other end of her sugar quill.
Fabian blushed, hiding his face away in his hands as Gideon chuckled.
"I find her very attractive and wanted to see if she would accompany me to Hogsmeade," Fabian replied, the words mumbled through his fingers.
Lily chuckled, moving her head towards the front of the library.
"Speak of the devil," she said.
The four of them looked towards where she was, watching as Marlene walked in. When the blonde noticed them, she smiled at their direction and headed their way.
"Think fast Fabian, here's your chance," Gideon whispered to his brother, a mischievous smile on his face.
Fabian continued to nervously play with his necklace, standing when Marlene approached the table and pulled out her chair for her.
Lia melted at the action, eager to see how this played out.
"Hey guys!" Marlene eagerly said, "I can't wait for Hogsmeade!"
Lia shot Fabian a knowing look, nodding her head towards her other friend.
"Hey Marls, we're pretty excited too," Lily slyly said.
The three of them watched as Fabian turned towards Marlene, looking as if he was about to vomit.
"Marlene, I was actually.. uhm. Well I was kina hoping-"
"Merlin he was hoping that you would accompany him to Hogsmeade," Gideon interrupted his brother, frustration clear on his face.
Marlene stared at the boy in astonishment, a blush creeping over her cheeks.
"Like on a date?" she asked.
Fabian nodded, gulping.
"Uhm, ya if you want," he muttered.
Lia saw Marlene's face glow at the words, immediately shaking her head in yes.
"Of course, I will! Meet me at the entrance of the castle in an hour," Marlene excitedly said.
