Part 2:

Chapter 2 –

November 5th, 1971

As the first two months of school flew by, Lia felt herself growing with concern day by day.

"I'm being serious J, I'm worried about Remus," Lia said as she pulled her brother by the arm, forcing him to look at her, "he's always sick for at least a week every month, and the last two days he honestly just looks like death."

James sighed as he wiped his hand over his mouth, concern evident on his face. Lia knew that James saw the way Remus looked today too, because as they all sat for breakfast they watched as the boy couldn't even keep his head up, falling asleep in his oatmeal.

"I know Lia, I see it, and so does Sirius and Peter. Every time we ask him what's wrong though, he just brushes us off," James said, hurt clear in his voice.

Despite what people say about her brother, Lia knew that James would do anything when it came to the people he cared about.

"He's a stubborn git he is. Later today, I'm talking to him and getting him to tell me the truth, whether he likes it or not," Lia growled, as she made up her mind.

She cared for Remus the same way that she cared for James and Sirius. The three of them had been inseparable since the beginning of school, only allowing room for one more person in their group, Peter. They met the boy as they walked up to Gryffindor towers on the first day, as he was hanging off the stairs about to fall. James and Remus pulled him up, potentially saving his life while Sirius, of course, stood back laughing. Since then, the boys added him to their little gang.

James grabbed Lia's hand, giving it a tight squeeze, "If he doesn't want to talk about it, then give him some space Lia," seeing that his sister was about to protest, he continued, "I know you just want to make sure that he's okay, but maybe he's going through some shit that he needs to work out. Time will tell."

Nodding her head and admitting defeat, Lia promised James, "If he continues to act like this over the next few weeks, then not even you can stop me from questioning him."

Laughing at his sister's antics, James wrapped an arm around her shoulder, "no need to worry Lia. I don't plan on getting between mother hen and her cub."

Slapping her brother in the arm as a small smile overtook her face, Lia allowed James to guide her to their next class which was charms.

"Your eyes, as beautiful as the grass that grows. Your hair, as wild and fiery, as the fire that flows through me. Your lips, peachy red and shaped like a kiss, ready for my touch. And your voice, a lullaby in my ears, the sound of sweet temptation," James sung to Lily as her and Lia headed up the stairs towards their dorm.

Lia cringed in second hand embarrassment for her brother, as Lily threw a glare over her shoulder.

"SHUT IT POTTER!" The red head yelled.

Lia heard the laughs of Remus and Sirius as Lily ran, hands over her ears to cut out the noise. It was as if Lia's brother was dead set on ruining any chances with Lily. He was coming off too strong and starting to make a fool of himself.

Entering her dorm, Lia noticed Alice and Marlene sitting on a bed with Lily.

"Oh Lily, he's just trying to get your attention," Alice said as she placed a comforting hand on her friends back.
