Part 2:
Chapter 3 –
March 5th, 1972
"What's this movie called again Lils?" Marlene asked form her spot beside Lia.
The girls had decided on a girl's night, using Lily's wand to project a muggle movie onto the white sheet hung on the wall. Lia had read up on muggle's and planned on taking the muggle course when she could in year three, but she still found some of their gadgets and ideas exciting.
Lily took Alice's wand, muttering a quick spell to turn off the lights in the room before answering, "It's called The Last Picture Show, it just came out recently."
Lia laid back on her pillows as she nibbled on a sugar quill. To her left, Alice and Lily shared Alice's bed and stuck Marlene with Lia. Lia loved the girl, she did, but whenever they tended to have movie nights like this, Marlene would constantly whisper to the person beside her about the movie and ruin the experience for whoever was her culprit.
It was so bad a few weeks ago that even Alice lost her temper and put a silencing charm on Marlene for the rest of the night. Lia wasn't against doing the same to the girl if she decided to be a little too chatty.
With her wand at her side, ready to perform the spell, Lia was happy as the blonde kept quite during the entirety of the movie. With the credits rolling on the screen, the four girls raised from the beds.
"Sonny, oh my, Sonny can sneak into my bed any time," Marlene said excitedly.
Lia chuckled, tossing a pillow Marlene's way before saying, "you must be blind because Duane surpasses Sonny any day."
Marlene's face took on a look of horror.
"Are you insane? Duane doesn't hold a stick," she turned towards Lily, "that's the saying right? A stick to my man Sonny."
Lia watched as Lily shook her head, smiling in Marlene's direction, "It's candle Marlene. Duane doesn't hold a candle to Sonny!"
Shrieking Marlene turned towards Lia, "Same thing, BUT EVEN LILY AGREES WITH ME! SONNY IS SUPERIOR!"
Lily's face contorted as she responded, "No I was teaching you how to properly say the expression," a smirk appeared, "Actually, if I had to choose, then I would choose Duane any day."
Lia smiled in victory and stuck her tongue out towards Marlene.
"Sucks to have bad taste, doesn't it?" She said as she removed the pillows from her bed, placing them on the floor.
Marlene smirked despite her situation, "say's you! I see the way you look at Sirius." Lia shot her a look that said 'don't start this' before laying down in her bed. Marlene shook her head before continuing, "besides, Alice agrees with me, don't you."
The girl in question raised her head with a guilty look on her face. Ringing her hands together with nerves, she said, "Actually, I- I uhm," she stuttered, "I think Frank Longbottom is quite nice."
The three girls shrieked, and Lia jumped off her bed as she ran towards her friend.
"YOU HAVE A CRUSH ON FRANK LONGBOTTOM! THIS IS THE BEST NEWS EVER!" Marlene screamed, jumping up and down in excitement.
"The two of you would be perfect together," Lily said softly, grabbing a hold of her friend's hand, "Maybe when we're older, he'll ask you out."
Lia nodded her head in agreement, a smirk overtaking her features, "yes, and then the two of you can go on a double date with Lily and James."
The red head sent a threatening glare her direction, removing her hand from Alice's and stomped over to her own bed.
"James and I will NEVER, and I mean NEVER happen! Now goodnight," Lily said as she turned her bedside lamp over.
