Part 2:
Chapter 14:
December 1st, 1975
A month had passed since the spectacle at Sirius' birthday party, and Lia still hadn't found a way to breakup with Preston. She had been avoiding him for the last few weeks and knew that he knew something was up, but she was scared to approach the situation. Lia hated herself for it, she wasn't this kind of girl. She was the girl who took what she wanted, not caring about the consequences. She was the girl who hurt anyone who even dared to harm her friends. She was the girl who people could count upon in times of need.
She wasn't this girl, and she knew the first step to getting back to her was to break up with Preston.
As she made her way towards the Gryffindor tower, intent on finally breaking up with the guy who caused her more trouble than needed, she ran into Sirius who had a distraught look on his face.
"What's wrong?" Lia immediately asked, worry evident in her voice. She watched as Sirius lifted his head, having not even noticed the girl there.
"It's my mom," Sirius whispered. Anger overtook Lia at the thought of that wretched women doing anything to hurt Sirius.
"What did she do?" Lia questioned, stepping towards Sirius, and placing her hand on his cheek, turning his head to face her.
Sirius shook his head, "Nothing, at least not yet," he sighed, "but she told Dumbledore to send me home immediately, said it was serious."
Lia was confused at his statement, wondering why Walburga would ever want Sirius to come home. The women not only hated him but found every way possible to keep him as far away from her as she could.
Looking towards Sirius' eyes, she could tell her was nervous, thinking the same thing that she was.
"I don't like this Sirius," Lia voiced her thoughts, "something about it just feels off to me."
Sirius nodded, agreeing with her. Placing his hand over hers, he leaned forward to brush a light kiss on her forehead.
"Me neither sunshine, but Dumbledore said that he couldn't hold me here if my mother wanted me. I'm not of age yet," he explained.
Lia sighed, hating the wizarding laws, and how they allowed children of abuse stay with their guardians.
"Fine," Lia relented, "but I want you to have this." She handed over the same galleon that they had used years ago to get in and out of Lucius Malfoy's wedding. "If anything happens that you don't like, you use this and get to Potter Manor. Even if nothing is wrong and you simply just want to leave, you go to Potter Manor. I'll find James and we'll meet you there."
Sirius' eyes softened at the girl's concern, his forehead leaning down to rest on hers. Lia could feel his breath on her lips, sucking in air at the tingles she felt.
"I promise Lia," he whispered, "I'll come back to you as soon as I can."
Lia nodded feeling a little emotional. She reached on her tippy toes, placing a gentle kiss on the corner of Sirius' mouth. With her eyes closed, she allowed herself to linger there for a few seconds, relishing in the feel of his skin on her lips.
After pulling back she felt as Sirius stepped away, but before she could leave, she reminded him, "I'll meet you there."
The intensity of the look he sent her was enough to have Lia melting in a puddle, but before she could say or do something back, Sirius turned away from her, walking towards Dumbledore's office. As she watched his back disappear from her sight, Lia huffed out before racing towards the tower to find her brother. Locating him in the common room by himself, Lia rushed over to him, panting from the exercise.
