Part 1:
Chapter 8 –
June 18th, 1996
Rushing down the halls towards Umbitch's office, Harry yelled at Hermione and Ron, "go get as many members of the DA as you can, Em and I will get word to the Order of the Phoenix through Umbridge's flow."
"Harry, wait!" Hermione yelled, stopping the four of them in their tracks in the middle of the stairs. Emilia's knee bounced, her nervousness of the situation showing clearly.
Harry blew out a sigh, no patience for whatever Hermione had to say on his features, "what 'mione," he exasperatedly asked.
Hermione nervously looked towards Emilia who shrugged her shoulders in response, knowing the least amount of information about the situation than any of them. Glaring at her slightly, Hermione looked towards Harry, her eyes pleading.
"What if he's only hurting Sirius because he's trying to get to you?" Hermione asked, her arm resting on the stairs railing as she winced in wait for his response.
Harry rolled his eyes, not even bothering to listen to her reasoning before responding, "What if he is?" he angrily asked, "I'm supposed to just let him die?"
Something in Emilia turned at that, her stomach rolling at the thought of this Sirius person dying and it caused an uneasy feeling in her.
"Hermione, he's the only family I got left," Harry finished, his eyes pleading with the reasonable one of the group to understand.
They stood there in awkward silence for a few moments, and Ron sent Emilia a look of mercy before Hermione finally nodded her head, signalling that they could continue with Harry's plan. She could partially imagine the pain Harry was going through, having no idea who her family was herself and for some reason the thought of Harry losing another family member hurt more than she thought it would.
Shaking her thoughts away, Emilia sent Hermione a thankful look, and her heart beat faster than it ever had before as the four split up, following Harry's directions, and Emilia raced to keep up with Harry's long legs.
Confused thoughts were running through her mind. What was the Order of the Phoenix? And why did Harry need to get word to them? And who was Sirius?
Godric that name sent shivers through her body, spreading like wildfire from head to toe. The name, one she had never heard before, was honey coming off Harry's tongue. A name she longed to hear day and night.
Reaching Umbitch's office, Emilia cast a quick Alohomora before racing into the room, with Harry at her heels. Harry rushed toward the flow, leaving Emilia to stand guard by the door.
"Harry, what is going on! What is the Order of the Phoenix? And who is Sirius?" Emilia yelled, feeling warmth flow through her as the name rolled off her tongue so beautifully.
Harry cast Emilia a quick glance before turning his gaze back to the fire.
"Look I know we should have told you about all of this sooner, but it wasn't our choice," Harry sighed, "The Order of the Phoenix is a group just like the DA, but they deal with things that involve the Dark Lord."
Emilia's eyes widened at that, wondering how the trio had kept this from her all these months.
"And Sirius... Well Sirius is my godfather." Harry said.
Shooting Harry a look, Emilia's curiosity burned through her.
"I promise I will tell you all about it when we get back, but we need to get Sirius to safety."
