Part 2:

Chapter 6 –

April 20th, 1973

Lia tucked her black hair behind her ear, her other hand raising the warm butterbeer towards her mouth. She watched as people littered around the pub, chatting between themselves. She also watched as a bloke from Ravenclaw flirted with Sirius, placing her hand on his shoulder.

"You know Lia, the longer you stare, the creepier it becomes," Marlene drawled, snagging a crisp from the basket in front of them.

Lia turned her glare towards her blonde friend, watching as Lily and Alice sighed at the argument about to come.

"I'm not staring Marlene, I'm merely just watching out for my friend," Lia said through her clenched teeth.

Marlene laughed at that, "You're staring Lia, just admit it."

Lia scowled at her friend, shaking her head, and turning towards the other girls.

The four girls decided to attend the Hogsmeade visit today, hoping to have a break from the drama of the year. James, Sirius, Remus, and Peter were supposed to join them, but instead got distracted by Zonko's, stating that they would meet the girls at the pub after. Sirius was the first to come back, but easily got distracted by the airheaded Ravenclaw as soon as he walked into the bar.

Lia had never felt jealously in her life, but in that moment, she knew that she could easily hex that girl with no guilt. Not that she would ever admit that.

Lia was taken from her thoughts as she heard the chairs around their table move and watched as the boys – now containing Sirius – sat at their table.

"Lia!" James shouted, his eyes wide behind his rimmed glasses and shoving a box in her face, "we picked up so many cool things to play more pranks on the Slytherins.... Oh, hello there love."

James's attention got diverted to Lily, forgetting about his sister and new toys in the process. A chuckle left Remus' lips from the left of Lia.

"He gets easily distracted, doesn't he?" Remus whispered to Lia, his lips moving close to her ear.

Lia smiled, quickly looking at Sirius, who was staring angrily at Remus' form.

"He's a man who gets distracted by a pretty girl, remind you of anyone?" Lia asked, turning her attention to Sirius.

Sirius paled at the insult, babbling excuse after excuse but Lia ignored it.

"Yes, it does, but ignoring that, how has your day been?" Remus asked.

Lia smiled at the kindness of her best friend, loving how he always worried about her well-being.

"It's going great, despite the vomit I felt watching Sirius try to flirt his way into that girls' knickers," Lia smirked.

Sirius sent a glare her way, pushing his chair back roughly before rounding the table to stand in front of Lia.

"I wasn't flirting with her, I was showing her how to do the new charms assignment," Sirius said before his face widened into a smirk, "besides, if I wanted to get into her knickers I wouldn't have to try."

After his statement, he turned towards Peter, letting him know that he was going back to the castle to finish the rest of his homework.

Lia felt her face flush with anger.

"That was really mean Lia," Peter whispered towards the girl.

Lia directed her glare towards him, pinning him to his seat.
