Part 2:

Chapter 45 –

December 25th, 1978

"Lia," a voice whispered in her ear.

Lia swatted in the air, her hand connecting with a face according to the slapping sound resonating in the room. She turned slightly to her left, her eyes cracking open and trying to adjust to the light as she took in what was going on.

"James?" She whispered, her hands covering her naked body with the blanket that was wrapped around her more.

She quickly sat up and rubbed her eyes with her hand, noticing her brother holding the bridge of his nose beneath his glasses as he glared at her.

"What the fuck Lia!" He screeched out.

Lia sent him a sheepish smile before waving for him to turn around. He stared at her for a moment before begrudgingly listening and giving her the privacy to change into her clothes. Looking out through her bedroom window she noticed that it was just starting to get light out meaning that the full moon was finally over.

"How is Remus?" She asked, pulling a jumper from the bed over her head and realizing it was Sirius' when nicotine and musky cologne filled her senses.

Once she was dressed, she moved past James, not bothering to wait for his answer as she rushed down the Manor's stairs, racing to the couch that they no doubt deposited his tired body on for Remus to heal. She heard the footsteps of her brother behind her as she reached her destination and when her eyes landed on Remus, she blew out a relieved breath.

He was cut up and bruised but no different than normal. For some reason she had a bad feeling before they went out tonight and she was glad to see that she was wrong. Glad to see that he was as okay as he could be.

She rushed over to his sleeping form and started assessing the immediate spots she needed to treat, already noticing the deep slash on his forearm and leg. She dropped to her knees as she mumbled healing spells wandlessly and cursing herself for forgetting it upstairs incase she needed it for something.

"We got you gauze and water-"

"And clothes," Peter cut Sirius off as they came running into the room.

Lia smiled at them both in thanks and grabbed the supplies from their hands before dipping the cloth in water and starting to wipe away the blood from Remus' now closed wounds.

She was glad Peter came this month after not knowing if he would be able to make it. The boys still saw each other at Order meetings and still hung out on a regular basis but she knew it was this that cemented their friendship. Helping their friend is what bonded them closer, and Remus needed all three of them and the potion to be able to have a semi normal moon change.

One that wouldn't cause him to rip himself apart inside from out.

"How was the night?" Lia asked as she wrung the bloody water out into the basin and picked up the gauze to wrap it around his injuries.

She had closed the major ones as much as she could, but she wanted to put down a secondary barrier in case they ripped open again. She was used to being his healer after leaving Hogwarts and learned what was best for him from her years working with the healer there.

"Same as every other time," James told her as he took a seat on the opposite couch, exhaustion covering his features, "that shack we made in the yard is really working well."

Lia nodded her head, thankful that her idea had worked. When they all moved back, she suggested that they make a cage in the back but make it look homier from the outside. It provided the wolf with the fresh air he needed but also allowed it so the boys could contain Remus in one spot while they watched over him.
