Chapter 8-Grawpy The Friendly Giant

  SCARLET'S POV

As we walked down the hallways of Hogwarts I had realized something, we weren't heading to Umbridge's office in the first place. We were heading straight for Dumbledore's office. Umbridge slammed the door opened as we walked inside, well, except for me of course. We stopped in front of his desk and I realized that we weren't the only ones in his office. I looked up and saw that the Minister from the Ministry of Magic was here.
"I have been watching them for weeks and look! 'Dumbledore's Army' proof of what I have been telling you from the beginning Cornelius" Umbridge exclaimed as she held up a contract of some sort.
"No! stop! he had nothing to do with this at all! it was me sir" Harry exclaimed,
"Me as well sir" I replied as well, Dumbledore chuckled.
"Very noble of you Harry, Scarlet, to shield me. But the contract clearly states 'Dumbledore's Army' not 'Potter's and Black's' I instructed Harry and Scarlet to form this organization and I am the only one responsible for these actions that have occurred" Dumbledore replied, I gasped as Harry shook his head at him, but all Dumbledore did was smile at us and wink.
"Send an owl to the Daily Prophet, and if we hurry, we still might make the morning edition. You two, escort Dumbledore to Azkaban" the Minister exclaimed, pointing to two of his loyal guards. Or servants as I like to call them. They both nodded and came forward towards Dumbledore, but I have a feeling that Dumbledore has something up his sleeve.
"Well Minister I will await trial but it seems to me that you think that I'll....oh whats the phrase?....come quietly. Well I'll tell you one thing, I don't plan on going to Azkaban at all" Dumbledore replied, smiling innocently, the Minister frowned.
"Enough of this, take him away" the Minister exclaimed, but as the two men came forward, Dumbledore made a fire vortex and suddenly vanished. It was quiet before one of the men said,
"I know you may not like him Minister but, I have to admit that Dumbledore has style" The man said in amusement, I giggled as we were taken away from the sight.

The next day, everyone was expecting for Dumbledore to return, but he didn't. After Dumbledore left, Umbridge took over, and took a turn for the worst.
"Boys and girls are not permitted within 8 inches of each other, those who wish to join the Inquisitorial Squad will be submitted to questioning about illicit activities. Any student in noncompliance will be expelled" We heard Umbridge say over the PA, I sighed as I looked around, seeing first years getting tease by third years, students staying far away from each other so that they don't have to suffer the punishment that Umbridge gives them if they do otherwise. I sighed,
"This is ridiculous! how can this happen?! not be permitted within 8 inches of each other?! that's outrageous!! I mean who does she think she is?! I don't understand how she gets to be headmaster! I mean, if I cant be within 8 inches of each other than I guess that means that I cant do this huh?!" I exclaimed, wrapping my arms around Harry's waist,
"Ohhhhhhh what are you going to do now oh great headmaster?! fire me up and feed me to the owls?!" I joked, everyone around me laughed as we continued to walk down the halls, it was lunchtime so we had decided to go outside instead of the great hall, why? well the old hag is there. And she changed the menu for our food, instead of having things like chicken or salad she's made us have completely different things like all vegetarian, now don't get me wrong, I like my salads and stuff but I NEED my meat!!
As we walked outside I realized how Slytherin have a lot of privileges now that Umbridge is here, for one, they can torment whoever they want and not get in trouble for it. That pisses me off,
"So what are we going to do about Umbridge?" Alexis asked, I sighed,
"I don't know, I mean I don't think there's anything that we can do, I mean she's taken over Hogwarts and she has a lot of followers on her side, we have no chance against her" I replied, they all looked at me.
"Since when does Scarlet Black ever give up?" Ron asked,
"Since we don't even have Dumbledore to help defend us, I'll admit he saved our asses by blaming himself for what we started, but now that he's gone, we can barely fend for ourselves, I mean look at everyone" I stated, pointing at everything around us,
"Slytherin has taken over all of our houses, they have more power than any of us, they not only have Snape on their side but the headmaster as well, not to mention that she has the Ministry on her side as well, and she's part of it! face it guys, even if all three houses got together and we fought for what's right, they have a lot more on their side, and a lot more power" I finished, Ron sighed,
"That's it, we're done for" he moaned, Harry shook his head,
"Don't say that, I still think we have a chance, Dumbledore-"
"And where is Dumbledore Harry?! face it! we're done! it's over! there's nothing to fight for anymore" I replied,
"Nothing to fight for?! Scarlet don't forget, this is your home too, this school is your home, this house is your family. You may think that this isn't important but we're fighting for our home and family here, so even if you're with me or not, I'm going to take back what's ours" Harry replied, determined. I sighed but smiled,
"I admire your courage Harry, I'll be with you all the way, but if the time comes where we cant fight anymore, you'll stand down with us, alright?" I asked, Harry smiled and nodded, suddenly there was a russle in the bushes, I looked over and slowly walked towards it, suddenly Hagrid walked out from between the bushes,causing me to jump and gasp, holding my hand where my heart is,
"Jeez Hagrid you scared the crabs out of me" I exclaimed, breathing heavily as if I had just carried a ten tonne rock 50 miles from home, everyone looked at me,
"Crabs?" Hermione asked, I chuckled.
"Don't ask" was my only reply,
"Anyway why are you here Hagrid?" Alexis asked, Hagrid looked around,
"I have to show you something, but I cant tell you here. Come with me" Hagrid replied, then he snuck into the bushes and disappeared, we all looked at each other and shrugged, following his lead.

We were walking into the forbidden forest for a few minutes now, and Hagrid still hasn't told us where we're going,
"Any idea where he's taking us?" Alexis whispered, all I did was shrug,
"Hagrid why cant you just tell us where you're taking us?" Ron complained, Hagrid sighed.
"Maybe if you shut up and quit asking questions then maybe Hagrid would tell you" I replied back, Ron held his arms up in surrender as we continued to walk in silence, as I was about to walk across a deserted piece of land that had no trees or shrubs in it, I was suddenly pulled back by Hagrid as I almost got run over by a bunch of Centaurs who were racing through as if it was a race track, I felt my heart racing. I looked up at Hagrid with large eyes.
"I've never seen the Centaurs so riled up! though some of them are good friends, they can be dangerous at times, you must be careful where you step Scarlet, one wrong move and you could have your head cut off before you say Hogwarts Express" I gulped when I heard Hagrid say that as I held my throat, we continued to walk through the forest until we came to a stop,
"Look, I'm sorry for being so mysterious, and I wouldn't be bothering you at all, but with Dumbledore gone, well...you're all I have left" Hagrid explained, we looked at him, confused as to what he was trying to say.
"I just know that I'm going to be sacked any day now and I just couldn't leave without telling someone about him" Hagrid finished, as I was about to ask him who he was talking about, a huge giant came out from behind the trees,
"Grawpy! Grawpy! down here you great buffoon!" Hagrid yelled, the giant called Grawpy looked over at Hagrid and smiled a crocked grin as he came tumbling over, knocking down small trees and animals that were in his way before stopping just before us. I smiled and waved before looking back at Hagrid.
"Is this who you were talking about when you had to deliver a message to the giants from Dumbledore?" I asked, he shook his head,
"No, he's my brother....er...my half brother. He's completely harmless don't worry, he's just high spirited that's all" Hagrid explained, we all nodded and turned back to him, suddenly he came towards us, running and tumbling over everything, I watch him look down at us before he reaches and grabs me by the torso and carrying me in the air by his hand. I scream, trying to hold on.
"Holy shit!!" I screech as he holds me in the air,
"Grawpy! that isn't polite!" Hagrid exclaimed,
"Hagrid do something!" Hedrmione yelled, suddenly Ron picked up a stick and ran at the giant, hitting him in the knee. But it broke and Ron was kicked away by Grawpy,
"Grawpy! is that anyway to treat your friends?" Hagrid said, but Grawpy ignored him as he stared at me, gently stroking my hair with his finger, I giggled, for he was tickling me at the same time,
"Look Grawpy, as much as I love the view from up here can you put me down? my friends are getting worried" I asked, he looked at me for a few seconds and then slowly put me down in front of Harry and the gang. Right as I was put down Harry grabbed me with Ron and they shoved me behind them,
"You just stay away from her!" Ron yelled, Grawpy frowned and stepped back from everyone as they turned around and looked at me,
"You okay?" Alexis asked, I nodded.
"I'm fine, I just needed to tell him that I wanted to get down" I replied, holding my arm to my side. Soon, Grawpy came back with a piece of a bicycle with a bell on it, he gave it to me and took one of his own out from behind him. He turned the bell and it made a sound and waited for me to do the same thing, I smiled and rang the bell as he smiled and repeated what he had done before.
"I think you have an admirer Scar" Harry said, I laughed.
"No, he thinks of me nothing more than a friend, isn't that right Grawpy?" I asked, he smiled and continued to ring the bell as I chimed in time with his,
"He has his own food, shelter, but he'll be needing some company after I'm gone you know? I mean you will take care of him till I'm back right?" he asked, looking at us. We all looked at each other and sighed,
"We'd love too" I smiled, finally. My friends and I may not like this idea of sneaking around with a huge giant to take care of but Hagrid is our friend and we know that he's helped us along the way here, so we need to return the favour. After all, Hagrid is our friend, and since he has risked his life for us, why can't we return the favor to him?
