Some men see things as they are, and say why. I dream of things that never were, and say why not.

Robert Kennedy

Rule #8

It was something Kendall always live by. Never get personality involved. It is best to be unattached. In his line of work that could cost him his life. Kendall lived by the rules. Knew them by heart and never did he deviate from them. Until now, Kendall was questioning his way of life. He was train to be indifferent to the people around him. To smile and let them think he was their best friend. Kendall thought of this as he was driving over to the tailor shop. He needed to see if his tux was done for the upcoming Celebrity Party. Hopefully Marv and Dani will be there Friday at George's weekend party. He can ask Dani to go with him to the Celebrity Party. If she not there, he'll have to find another way.

He pulled up to the tailor shop, parked his Chevy Chevelle. Got out look around. The street was empty just the way he like it. He enters the tailor shop. Warren was behind the counter. Hello Kendall, thank you for coming. I have your tux ready. I also took the liberty of having a shirt and bow tie to go with it. Kendall looks at the tux hanging. He let the fabric slide through his fingers. It was a beautiful satin blue. It shimmers when he touches it. He looks at Warren amazed at his creation. This is remarkable. Kendall said. Warren asked. May I asked what cuff links you be wearing. Kendall mentions the gold ones. Warren said, I have something that will be better. Warren showed him the cuff links and Kendall agree. They were gold but sparkle with diamonds. Kendall asked if Mr. Anderson was here. Warren nodded. Kendall asks Warren if he would get it ready for him to take when he leaves. As Warren went to package the suit up for Kendall. Kendall walks to the back of the storage room and press a button behind the shelf. A door slid open, and Kendall quietly slip through.

He went to Mr. Anderson office and knock on the door. Come in said Mr. Anderson.

Kendall opens the door and enter he closed the door behind him. Mr. Anderson glance up hello Kendall. I ask you here to get an update. So, what did you find out. Kendall told him he was still working on the list of names he gave him. He told him about his conversation with George. How he found out the guy's name was Nate. He is the one who he saw with George previous at his house. Kendall also told him about the conversation he had about Leroy with George. Mr. Anderson mention did you meet with Eden and Carolyn. Yes, said Kendall but as to why they are here I have yet to find out. Kendall stops talking when he notices the look that Mr. Anderson was giving him. He knew that look; he should remain quiet. Mr. Anderson had something to say. Kendall looked Mr. Anderson in the eye and quietly spoke what's on your mind. Mr. Anderson was a man of few words; he can look at you and undermine you. Kendall knew this look. So, he waited. Silence fills the air. Mr. Anderson glare at Kendall. Kendall was the best he ever trained. He was worried that Kendall was forgetting what he was trained for.

There are rules that we live by quietly said Mr. Anderson. Rules that cannot be broken, do you remember these rules, Kendall. Yes, Kendall reply. So, tell me Kendall why are you so intent on breaking rule # 8. DO NOT GET PERSONALLY INVOLVED. Mr. Anderson pronounced each word. Kendall silently said nothing. It is of no concern of yours what Leroy does. You have a mission don't fail me. Now leave Mr. Anderson spat. Angry at Kendall his finest agent on the verge of losing everything. There was no way out for people like Kendall. You succeeded in the role that was given to you. Are you exist no more.

Kendall quietly got up and left the office. Warren had package up his tux. He took it and said his goodbyes. Kendall left the tailor shop and stroll to his car. He opened the back door and hung his tux up by the window. He shut the door got in and drove off. Kendall thought there no way he could back away now. Kendall knew why Mr. Anderson was so mad at him. He knew the rules, live by them and never in his wildest moments did he think of breaking them. But the good marine in him was coming out. He just couldn't help himself. He couldn't stand by and let the innocence be taken. It was against everything thing he was taught as a marine. Mr. Anderson remind him this afternoon that he wasn't a marine anymore. As Kendall drove on, he thought of Dani. Hopefully she will be able to come this weekend to George's Party. He needed to find a way to take her to the Celebrity Party.
