So the darkness shall be the light, and the stillness the dancing.
T. S. Eliot
Los Angeles' socialites.
It was a long night at the theatre that Kendall work at. Here it was easy to overhear conversations. Every new movie that was coming out was shown here first. Which means all the celebrity stars would sneak in at night and sit in the back to watch their show. Sometimes there would be a celebration an everyone would show up in a limbo and dress fancy. Tonight, was one of though celebrations. It was up to Kendall to make sure the theatre was in spectacular condition. Everything must be perfect for the guests tonight. Sam Sam, Kendall yelled the lighting must be right. Sure, thing boss Sam reply. Kendall thought everything must be perfect. He went through out the theater checking for dust making sure everything was in place. He saw Lucy, heading to the back, Hey Lucy, I need you to go over the carpets in the auditorium one more time. Ok boss, Lucy said. Kendall thought, tonight there will be numerous stars, executives and other prominent people in the cinema industry coming. Everything must be perfect. The crowd which congregated outside demonstrated how this event was to them. In a sense this was the gala of all galas of the year. Within the theater the festive spirit prevailed. It was Kendall job to make sure everything ran smoothly. Tonight, Eddy would be showcasing the ceremonially. He should be arriving soon.
Afterward the gala, the party will be held at the Beverly Hotel. He was hoping to get a ticket from Bob. George introduces Bob to Kendall at one of his parties. They been friends ever since. Bob could always make Kendall laugh and forget why he was there.
Later the Stars pulled up one by one waving to the crowd. Kendall dress in his best tux was there to greet each and every one of them. A brilliant audience consisting of Los Angeles' socialites and theatrical personalities were arriving. Tonight, was important not just for the theatre but for the information that he sought for. There was the gorgeous dames Marilyn and Elizabeth, Doris. His buddy's Frank, James, Bob, and George they always showed up to these things. Hi, Kendall, it's good to see you, Frank reply. Right this way Kendall said. They all came to support tonight event. Among the guest was the lovely ladies Audrey, Grace, and Marisa. Fred and his lovely wife Vel. Hello Kendall Fred said. Kendall shook Fred hand. He was dress in a dark navy-blue tux. The gold that he wore shown brilliantly. Vel look amazing as always. She was dress in a violet off the shoulder dress with a sparkly diamond choker. I brush a kiss to her white glove hand. Always a pleasure Kendall said. The cars kept coming. Tonight, was the movie of the year and hopefully Oscar winning material. Later when the movie was over, and everyone was heading to the afterwards party at the Beverly Hotel. Kendall slip in and sat next to Bob. Did you hear anything Bob, Kendall asked? It was his way of asking Bob what up in the celebrity world. Bob knew everything and everyone. He also was Kendall informant but to Bob he was just a friend. Bob didn't know who he truly was. Rule #1 (never show your true self) must always be in place. They talk about George. Kendall's friend, about his parties. Bob mention there is one tonight at the Beverly Hotel. You should go said Bob. Bob gave Kendall a ticket to attend the party at the Beverly Hotel. Kendall quietly said his farewell. He went to his office to tidy up. Most parties in Los Angeles you had to get an invitation to go. The one in his pocket from Bob should do the trick to get him in.
Previous that afternoon Mr. Anderson met up with him and gave him a list. List of people thought to have ties to communist. It was Kendall job to find out if it were true. This party should help with that. He left the theatre to go to his apartment. It was quietly located just outside of Los Angles. He pulled up to his apartment. He enters and place his keys on the counter. Everything was clean and meticulous in place. Kendall went to his bedroom. Everything was in order. The bed made corner tightly tuck in place. Kendall walked to his walk-in closet. He pulled out his tux. All his suits were hung in order of color. He took a shirt off the hanger and carefully but it on the bed. His closet was meticulous in place. Everything in order. He pulls out a pair of black dress shoes and put his other shoes in order of color. He checks to see if anything was out of place and closed the closet door. He changes into a tux with a satin blue bow tie. He looks at himself in the mirror while he was placing the studded gold cuffs on, everything must be meticulous in place he thought. Kendall knew he wasn't handsomely handsome. He was clean shaven with a crisp clean look. Kendall knew how to handle himself and put on the charm with the ladies. He hung up his shirt and suit on a hanger for the dry cleaner. Look on more time at himself. He grabbed his keys and headed out thinking about what he needed to accomplished tonight. Hopefully he can give Mr. Anderson what he needed soon.
