George's Party

It was evening the stars were twinkling. The air was warm with a slight breeze that flow through Kendall Chevy Chevelle. He was driving to George's house. George was having a party to celebrate the upcoming movie that was sure to be a hit. A boisterous party made up of his friends, friends of friends. Hopefully Dani and Marv would be there. This was his chance to ask Dani to the Celebrity Party. Kendall went through the gate. He parks his Chevy Chevelle next to a Mercedes Benz that was in prime condition. The chauffeur was leaning against the car smoking. He nodded to Kendall. Kendall went up the stairs and enter the house. The music and laughter were coming from down by the pool. Kendall took a glass of champagne from a waiter and follow the laughter. There was George surrounded by beauties, Camilla, Audrey, Grace, Marisa, Marylin, Liz and Mimi. All trying to be the next star that is chosen by him. His lovely wife chatting with Nancy, Mia, and Deloris. Betty was dress in a yellow of the shoulder dress. She was fabulous as ever. Kendall scans the area looking for Marv and Dani. Kendall spotted Marv chatting with Bob and headed over to her. Hello Kendall, it's so good of you to join us said Bob. Let me introduce you to the lovely lady Marv. Kendall smile giving no intention that he knew Marv. He stretches out his hand to shake hers. Lovely to meet you Marv. Bob notice someone else and left to talk with them. Marv did Dani come Kendall asked? Kendall led Marv to the bar in the back of the room. Oh Yes, said Marv. I had to drag her away from her books. She inside talking to the ladies in the living room. Reply Marv. Kendall chatted with Marv and was relieve when Stu came to invited her to dance. Kendall grab two drinks and went to find Dani. He found her sitting alone in the living room with the other ladies. Nancy and Francis were chatting about the latest cloth design from Paris. Kendall stood in front do you mind if I sit. Dani looks up and smile of course not. He sat and handed her a drink. It looks like you could use one. She laughs I do feel a little out of place here. No worries. Kendall at your service. Kendall knew that Dani was awkward being here. She wasn't the party type. She wasn't as young as the ladies that hung on Georges every word. Kendall started asking questions. On what she did and did she like living here. He soon found out that Dani like talking about herself. Soon she wasn't awkward anymore. When Dani was more comfortable in her surroundings. He asked if she was going to the Celebrity Party. If she was going with anyone. Dani reply, oh yes, Marv got me a ticket. It'll be great to get a picture with the stars. She laughs. She went on and on about who she might see there. Dani pauses and stare at Kendall when he asked if he could take her. Dani was shocked, why would a handsome guy like Kendall asked her to the biggest party of the year? Kendall was waiting for her to respond. Ugh ok, she mumbled. Great said Kendall. He took her hand and led her to the dining room. Where George's wife Betty lay out a beautiful, delicious meal. Kendall continues his conversation with Dani. He notices who was there. His friends Frank, Bob, Larry, and others. Leroy was there surround by ladies which Kendall didn't like, but this was George's house. If he got out of line George would deal with it. It was a lovely dinner. Afterward they had drinks in the living room. Kendall offers to take Marv and Dani Home. He gave his farewell to George. Lovely party George he said. To Betty, he kisses her on the cheek. Kendall reply, it was fabulous. Thank you for gracious inviting me. Betty patted him on the shoulder. Your always welcome in my home. Kendall smile, come on ladies I'll walk you to the car. Betty smile when she watched Kendall escort the two ladies to the car. Maybe there's hope for him yet, she mused.
