Chapter Seven

Atid gently lays Aroon on the couch. Blood was still coming from the cut on his forehead but it has reduced a bit. Atid felt anxious as Aroon is still unconscious.

Atid: Where the hell is the doctor?

Atid takes out his phone to call Josh but stops when he hears a knock on the door.

Atid: Come in.

Josh enters the office followed by a doctor.

Josh: Sir, the doctor is here.

Atid: Doctor, he fell down and hit his head. He is still unconscious.

Doctor: Please wait outside while I check him.

Atid nods his head and exits the room along with Josh.

Atid runs his fingers through his hair nervously as he waits for the doctor to come out. He eyes then falls on Josh who is still standing next to him.

Josh: Sir, is it okay if I leave now? I have something urgent to do.

Atid looks at him with an unreadable expression and then speaks with a cold voice.

Atid: Mr. Rattane, why are you in a hurry? Don't you want to know about your boyfriend's condition?

Josh: He is not my boyfriend. He.....he has been flirting with me since I gave him more work as you instructed. I...

Atid shows his hand asking to stop talking.

Atid: You may go.

Josh nods his head and leaves immediately.

Atid(in mind): Am I  decieved by his innocent looks? Is he not the kind hearted boy I thought he is? Was all that an act?

Atid felt frustrated as his heart did not agree with his mind. As he was lost in his thoughts, the doctor comes out of the cabin.

Atid: Doctor

Doctor: Mr.Chanthara, the head injury is superficial. I have applied medicine and bandaged it. But what I am concerned about is the patient's general health condition. He seem to have skipped meals and sleep. He blacked out due to exhaustion. It looks like he has been overworking without proper meals and rest.

Atid looks down in guilt as he knew he is responsible for Aroon's condition.

Doctor: I strongly recommend couple of days rest and good food for complete recovery.

Atid nods his head.

Doctor: That's all. I will take your leave then.

Atid: Thank you doctor.

Atid sends off the doctor and then returns to his cabin. Aroon is still lying on the couch with his eyes closed. Suddenly he starts whimpering and moving his body restlessly. Atid runs towards him and tries to hold him down but drops his hand in shock when he heard his next words.

Aroon: Ple....please don't touch me. I...I am nor like that. I...I am not a slut. I....

Aroon starts crying hysterically. Atid felt a pang in his heart seeing him like that. He pulls him into his arms and hugs him tight.

Atid: Aroon, its ok. No one is going to hurt you.

Aroon struggles to get out of Atid's arms but he holds him tight.

Atid: Aroon, please stop fighting. It's me,Atid. I promise, I will not hurt you. Please open your eyes and look at me.

Aroon slowly opens his eyes and looks at Atid. More tears start flowing down his eyes. He holds Atid's hand tight as he tries to say something.

Aroon: I...I....I wa..was not flirting. He....he..

Aroon could not complete his sentence as he was feeling breathless due to heavy crying.

Atid: It's ok. It's okay Aroon. You don't have to say anything. Just go to sleep.

Aroon cries some more and slowly drifts into sleep crying. Atid looks at the broken person in his arms and lets out a groan.

Atid: What the hell is going on? What happened to him and why is he so hysteric? Did Josh...

Something clicks in his head and he quickly lays down Aroon on the couch before going to his desk. He calls the security team and asks for the CCTV footage of a particular floor for last one week as soon as possible. He impatiently waits for the access. He finally receives it after 30 minutes. He goes through the footage one by one, starting from the beginning of the week. A particular scene on the tape catches his attention and he clutches his fist in anger. He then goes through the footage of next few days and his anger increases manifold. He bangs his fist hard on his table.

Atid: You bastard.....

Atid sits on his chair holding his head unable to believe what he saw. He looks at the guy lying on his couch. Tears streaks are seen on his cheeks and guilt gnawed his heart knowing that he was partially responsible for those. He slowly gets up and walks towards the couch. He kneels down and gently touches Aroon's face.

Atid: I am sorry. I am so sorry. I never wanted to hurt you. I just wanted to send you away from me. I would never hurt you my kind hearted boy. I wanted to keep you away from a jerk like me. But I....

A single tear escapes Atid's eyes. He quickly wipes it and a determined look is seen in his eyes.

Atid: I promise, the one who hurt you will be punished. He will regret the day he laid his finger on you.

Atid quickly makes a few calls and then picks up Aroon who is still sleeping. He carries him to the basement where his car is parked. He could see the shocked look on his driver's face.

Atid: Open the door.

Driver: Yes Sir.

Driver opens the front door and Atid gently places Aroon on the passenger seat and puts on the seatbelt.

Atid: Give me the keys.

Driver hands over the keys to Atid.

Atid: You can go home from here. I will drive back home.

Driver: Yes Sir.

Atid gets into the car, makes sure Aroon is comfortable and then drives away from there.
