Atid's POV:
His tears had long dried up but he was exhausted after baring his heart before Anong. He could sense her eyes on her as if he is waiting for him to say something.
Atid: I think I need to leave now.
He gets up from the swing and starts walking away from there.
Anong: I am sorry for what you went through as a child but that doesn't justify what you did to Aroon.
Atid halts his steps but does not look back.
Atid: I know and I regret it every second of my life.
A moment of silence.
Atid: I am okay if you want to cancel this wedding.
Anong: You still don't get it, do you? Cancelling this wedding is not in our hands. Getting married to you or not was always Aroon's choice and he chose you even after everything that you did to him.
Anong: I am not the one to answer that question. You will find the answer to that question within yourself.
Atid does not say anything and just walks forward followed by Anong. Soon they reach Atid's car.
Atid: Then, I will leave now.
Anong: Hmm
Atid: Thank you.
Anong: Huh?
Atid: Thank you for being a good friend and lending me an ear.
A smile appears on Anong's face.
Anong: Always.
A genuine smile appears on Atid's face on seeing the smile on her face.
Atid: Goodnight
Anong: Goodnight
Atid gets into the car and closes the door. He looks at Anong with a smile and then drives away from there.
"He left?"
Anong gets startled hearing someone's voice. She turns around to find Aroon standing at the door looking at her.
Anong: Oh Aroon, you scared me.
Aroon: I am sorry. I didn't mean to.
Anong: It's ok, I know. Atid just left. Why didn't you come out and say bye if you were awake?
Aroon does not say anything and avoids eye contact.
Anong: Aroon
Anong moves closer to him and takes his hand in her hand.
Anong: Are you okay baby brother?
Aroon shakes his head in no. She quickly takes him back into the house and walks upstairs to her room. She makes him sit on the bed and closes the door behind her. She then sits next to her and takes his face in her hands.
Anong: What is bothering you Oon?
Aroon: He..he is so happy and cheerful with all of you. Why doesn't he smile when he is with me? Does he hate me so much?
Anong: No Oon, he does not hate you. Who can hate my cute little baby brother?
Aroon: Then why?
Anong: He does not hate you Oon. He hates himself. He feels insecure and unworthy of you.
Aroon: Huh?
Anong: Forget everything. Let me just tell you a story about a lonely child who craved for an ounce of love his entire life.
Aroon: But..
Anong: Just listen to me and all your questions will be answered.
Anong starts telling the story and as the story progresses, Aroon's eyes fill with tears. He felt his heart break thinking about the lonely child who went through so much pain at such a young age. The story stops at the child being taken away from his home. Aroon wanted to know what happened to the child after that.
Aroon: P, what happened to the kid after that?
Anong: He grew up to become one of the most cold hearted and rich casanova in the country.
Aroon: Huh?
Anong looks at Aroon and then realization dawned on him.
Aroon: PAtid
Anong: Hmm, your PAtid is that lonely kid who turned into a cold hearted casanova who broke many heart including yours. Now you know why he doesn't believe in love and marriage.
Aroon: But not everyone are the same. Our situation is different from that of his parents.
Anong: I know that Oon. But he is the one who needs to understand it. He is still waiting for you to cancel the wedding as he feels he is not worth anyone's love or care.
Aroon sits there in silence trying to process everything that he heard.
Aroon: I will prove him wrong.
Anong: Huh?
Aroon: I will prove to him that he is worth all the love in the world. I will prove to him that I will never leave him no matter how hard he tries.
Anong: But he is hard headed and will not accept you easily.
Aroon: I know.
Anong: He will try to hurt you like he did before.
Aroon looks at his sister in shock.
Aroon: You know? How? Niran..
Anong: No, Atid told me. I really wanted to punch him at moment but I stopped myself. Do you think you will be able to survive if something like that happen again?
Aroon: He won't do it again and if he does, I will break his bones and then drag him back to me.
Anong smiles seeing her brother's confident look.
Anong: All the best Aroon. Just remember I am always there for you.
Aroon: Thank you P. But I think I need more hands on deck.
Anong: What do you mean?
Aroon: Please wait. Let me call someone first.
Aroon dials a number.
Aroon: Hello P. Are you free tomorrow? Can we meet?
Inaudible conversation on other end.
Aroon: Thank you. I will send the location and time later. Bye.
He made some more calls and then turned to his sister who was looking at him in confusion.
Aroon: We need to go somewhere tomorrow.
Anong: Where?
Aroon: Just wait and see.
Aroon looks at Anong with a mischievous smile on his face.
