Chapter Thirty Three

There was heavy silence in the room as Kiet finish telling his story. Niran's eyes are filled with tears while Aroon is crying in a corner and crying silently.

Aroon: How could smile with so much pain in your heart?

Kiet: Memories of PChai gave me the strength to live my life and now God has given me my PChai. I am so happy.

Niran: We are happy for you Kiet.

Aroon: Really, really happy.

Kiet: Thank you. You guys helped me a lot to cope with my stressful life. You never made me feel lonely and filled my life with smiles. I am really happy to have you both in my life.

Aroon: Oh, don't say that. We are your friends and we love you Kiet.

Kiet: I love you too.

All three of them hug each other tight.

Kiet: By the way, I have one more news to share with you.

Aroon: What? Tell us fast.

Kiet shows his hand to them and Aroon starts screaming in excitement.

Aroon: You are engaged. Oh my God, my bestie got engaged.

Aroon hugs Kiet while Niran stands there with mouth hanging low.

Niran: You...you got engaged.

Kiet: Actually, I am getting married...tomorrow.

Niran/Aroon: WHAT?

Kiet: PChai don't want to stay away from me. He said he can't take the risk of me running away again. So he wants to make it official.

Niran: What about you?

Kiet: I always belonged to him and now he will legally be mine. I am happy Niran.

Niran: Hmm, that's all we need to hear. We want you to be happy. Just remember, we are your family. You can come to us if you need someone to lent you an ear. We are never too busy for you Kiet.

Aroon: Always remember, you have two brothers, a sister and a mom. This is your home and we love you.

Kiet nods his head as he is too overwhelmed to say anything.

Aroon: I think we need to get some sleep because we have a wedding to attend tomorrow.

Niran: Yay!!!!

All three of them get on the bed and go to sleep cuddling with each other.

Next day morning:

Kiet slowly opens his eyes as sunlight grazed his face. He looked towards his sides and a smile appears on his face on seeing his friends hugging him and sleeping. For the time in a long time, he felt happy and content. He closes his eyes and enjoys the serene feeling for a few seconds. He opens his eyes as someone knocks on the door. Kiet gently removes his friends hand and gets out of the bed. He opens the door to find Anong standing outside with a big smile.

Anong: Good morning Kiet.

Kiet: Goodmorning PAnong.

Anong: Ready for your big day.

Kiet looks at Anong in shock.

Kiet: How....

Anong: Your prince charming is downstairs asking for mom's permission to marry you. He literally on his knees while mom is grilling him.

Kiet: Huh?

Anong: Quickly freshen up and come downstairs. Wake those lazy bums too.

Kiet: OK
