...

Here's the thing - with Chaeyoung, everything she has with Jisoo seemed unthinkable because her girlfriend was and most of the time - is still - unattainable, well impossible is a more appropriate word but they managed to move past that.

They went from friends, to best friends (although they can't replace each other's best friends, Lisa and Jennie will both kill them if they even dare) to simply simping for each other and then heavily crushing on each other then girlfriends. It was a long road for both of them given the circumstances of how difficult they were

Jisoo was a respected physicists and professor in Caltech - though some might say she was eccentric she was still respected for her principles and her work. Born in raised in Korea, she was a prodigy that bought great honor to her middle class family who worked very hard for her to have access to the academics she deemed of - which also explains her grit for everything she wants.

And while a little less eccentric and difficult, Chaeyoung wasn't exactly the best - she was a closeted gay neuroscientist that was babied by her parents for too long hence her awkwardness. She was awkward - that's what she is, and together they are their own brand of weird.

Dr. Jisoo and Dr. Chaeyoung - they're cute together, they were each other's first and hopefully last, which brings back the dilemma Chaeyoung was facing.

She was away for a research study in New Jersey and she gave, Jennie and Irene a very specific list of instruction and top of that list (actually the only thing on that list) - a bulleted, written in bold letters and on caps lock - instruction that said: WATCH JISOO!

Not that Jisoo was ever capable of cheating but as smart as her girlfriend is - she was emotionally stupid and very very very easy to manipulate - mostly because she's too innocent and very very very attractive.

So when Chaeyoung heard about a girl named Sunmi arriving at Caltech and is getting a little too close to Jisoo she had a powerful urge to come home - "I gave you one job!" she says to both Jennie and Irene who looked slightly terrified of her

"I thought when you said watch like don't let her get hit by a pedestrian" Jennie jokes

"Yeah" Irene agrees, "Which only happened once"

"Why are you worried? This is Jisoo were talking about - she's not gonna look at girls that way" Jennie tries to assure her but Chaeyoung just can't let go of her nagging feeling

"I don't think Jisoo even knows how to look at girls that way" Irene mumbles

"Forget it - I'll be back in a couple of days anyways, it took me 3 years to get to Jisoo - this Sunmi girl better not ruin that" Chaeyoung warns

"We got your back, girl" Jennie says playfully but falters when she sees Chaeyoung's serious face, "I mean - yes, ma'am"

...

Jennie and Lisa are more like Jisoo and Chaeyoung - but they're more functional adults, While Irene and Seulgi are like two halves of the moon broken equally - and equally as in if Irene's salary equals to whatever money Seulgi have spent on comic books and useless robots for her own self entertainment and then there's the resident third wheel - Taehyung, who was still simmering from being rejected by Sunmi

"Are you done trying to make yourself feel better?" Seulgi asks after Taehyung had said another insult about Sunmi

"Yes" the astrologist mumbles defeatedly

"Okay, so what do we do with this kind of situation?" Jennie asks the group and all of them looked at Lisa - she's Jisoo's longest and best friend

"What?" Lisa shrugs, clueless. "It didn't say anything about this in the manual when she came in" She jokes - It was an ongoing joke that Jisoo is more of a robot than a functional human being.
