|If tonight ever makes a difference
The way that I feel
The way that I'll remember it
I'll take this down until the glass remains
Swallow the words that I was meant to sayIt's a long drive back to vegas skies
So why don't I make one more wrong turn tonightSo say goodnight
Our first goodbye
I've only got forever and forever is fine
Just take your time
We'll stop the clock together and know that the timing was right|Vegas skies//The cab

Everyone makes mistakes, it doesn't make it okay or the consequences less scary but everyone makes mistakes.
Park Chaeyoung is not someone who can afford to make mistakes. Being an orphan means she's only at YG international school of business and arts on a scholarship and she can't lose that scholarship now that she's almost 18 and will be kicked out of the foster care system
She needs to recruited through tennis or get accepted with a scholarship or else she wouldn't be able to go to college and if college doesn't happen then she's probably doomed to live in the streets and Chaeyoung might've survived foster care but she's not gonna survive the streets.
On the other hand Kim Jisoo, who got in all handed to her - couldn't afford to make mistakes for a variety of different reasons. One of them being the only daughter of an Asian household means a tiny mistake is not welcome nor tolerated. Her parents are successful academics in their own field and she's expected to follow their success. She was already on thin ice when she took business instead of medical focused school.
The two have been school mates since they stepped into YG, although they never once crossed paths except now - as they both enter senior year they're now on the same classes. Usually Jisoo isn't one to care about her classmates, people come and go but when she was tied for first in class to a certain classmate her eyes zeroed on the girl immediately.
"First quarter results are out, how did you do?" Her dad asks during dinner
"I was tied with someone for first in class" She grumbled
"Tied? what the hell do you mean tied?"
It means we got the same grade doofus - is what Jisoo really wanted to say but she bit her tongue and looked down on her food, "I'll do better next time"
"Right" Her dad scoffs and Jisoo swallowed without chewing her food in hopes that she chokes and die- she didn't. "You should've done better now and not wait for next time but understandable"
"Understandable?" Jisoo asks- her tone flat as to not give away anger
"You're not exceptional, I can't expect that you'll surpass everyone now, can I?"
Jesus Christ. What the hell is wrong with my family.

Jisoo actually considered rebelling but then again she already did and that did not go well- she got a bruise as proof. She wonders who managed to tied with her and her question was answered very quickly when Park Chaeyoung - a blonde classmate she used to see around campus back then - answered a very complicated math equation that had the rest of their classmates scratching their heads
"Hi" She greets when the bell rings signaling lunch break
"Hello!" the girl beamed at her. Too energic for her liking but the smile had her reeling
"So...I see that we're tied first in class" Jisoo says casually
"oh- that was you?"
"Yes - Kim Jisoo"
