|I'm so thankful for all of the girls you loved before|
In which Chaeyoung tells the story of how they met.
...
"Hey, Kim - isn't that your wife?"
Jisoo looks at the direction that her co-worker is looking at and sure enough she sees Chaeyong walking towards them.
"Yes, she is" Jisoo said smiling and meets Chaeyoung half-way, "What are you doing here?"
Her company sends Jisoo in a monthly business trip to check on other sites as part of her job, it was most definitely a surprise to see her wife out of her lawyer clothes and wearing something more laid-back - although still very drop dead gorgeous.
"Surprise - I figured if I can't stop the flow I'll just go with it" Chaeyoung says referring to her constant disproval of the work trips
"Well technically I'm on the job now but I will see you later - barbeque with my colleagues" Jisoo reminds
"I remember" Chaeyoung plants a kiss in her mouth for everyone to see and walks away
Yeah, that's her wife.
.
.
.
At the barbeque - Chaeyoung wore casual tight jeans and a cool short sleeved polo that compliments' Jisoo's outfit. They looked like a model power couple and they we're getting looks.
"So Chaeyoung is it?" One of Jisoo's co-workers asks. "How did you and Jisoo met?"
They all looked at Chaeyoung expectantly - and Jisoo being... well - her, just shrugs her shoulders.
So Chaeyoung begins - "We met in Highschool but our relationship didn't start until college"
"In Highschool - we ran in different circles, although we have so much in common we just really didn't have that much interaction to begin with. I did know her as a friend of a friend and she was fairly well known in campus - as am I"
There was no surprise in that really - with their looks it was a wonder why they weren't models.
"In Uni - it was different. It was a bigger population and it was hard to run with a crowd that was perfectly aligned with all your values but then Jisoo" Chaeyoung pauses to sip at her drink as she remembers every detail
"When I met Jisoo at Uni she was with the same girlfriend she had off Highschool and I was taking a break with relationships - we started of as good friends because we all went to the same highschool"
"Jisoo had another girlfriend before?" One of the guys joked
"Yeah" Chaeyoung rolls her eyes playfully, "She had 2 before me"
"Anyways - our friendship mostly continued smoothly until our 2nd year in Uni when her girlfriend at the time was discovered cheating" this garnered looks around the crowd. "Jisoo went on to isolate herself for a good full year until of course I came along"
Chaeyoung smirks confidently, "So you're relationship started in your 3rd year?" her smile fades
"No" Chaeyoung grumbles a little, "it was clear that she wasn't looking for a relationship so we were just friends - we were bestfriends and we still are"
"Friends?"
"Yes, friends. We spent every free time together. Watching movies, going bowling and playing pool - we killed in game night and went to wild ragers"
"Then you became her girlfriend?"
"No - she went on a blind date that was set up by her brother which resulted in Girlfriend number 2 and I, well I dated as well"
Jisoo chimes in "She dated a dude"
"I was once a straight girl" Chaeyoung nods jokingly
"But you didn't have feelings for each other?"
"Romantically? No" Jisoo shrugs, "Friendship is the core and foundation of our relationship"
"So how did you finally get together?" one of Jisoo's workmates asked
"Both of our relationship weren't working out - it was stale. So we both ended up being single mid third year of Uni" Chaeyoung smiles, remembering that coffee date when they both revealed they were single
"Then..?"
"Then, we just saw each other in a different way"
"That's it?"
Jisoo nods, "Pretty much" finding the reaction to her anti-climatic ending amusing. She looks over at Chaeyoung who mirrored her expression.

Third year college student Jisoo Kim walks in a bustling coffee shop and spots her table occupied with a familiar blonde. She smiles to herself as she walks towards Chaeyoung.
"You look happy" Chaeyoung noticed, gently pushing the tray of donuts and Jisoo's coffee towards her
"I have something to tell you"
"Me too"
"You go first" Jisoo insists and takes a sip of her coffee
"I broke up with him"
Jisoo's eyes widened, "I just broke up with her"
There was a silence that followed, "We're too happy for a bunch of single people" Chaeyoung notes and they both sigh - at least they have each other.
Jisoo wasn't sure how her feelings towards Chaeyoung changed - how she went from 'this girl is my bestfriend' to wanting to spend the rest of her life with Chaeyoung.
She wanted to wake up next to Chaeyoung, to see her face every morning as she wakes. Jisoo wanted to share every waking moment of the rest of her life with Chaeyoung.
Little did she know, Chaeyoung wanted the same thing.
.
.
.
It was the end of their 3rd year, Chaeyoung remembers.
She was with Jisoo in her dorm, Jisoo was ranting about her roommate being a pain about their shared space. She flailed her arms in annoyance as she recounts the story, venting out her frustrations to Chaeyoung who was too busy admiring her.
She loved the way Jisoo's eyes would squint a little everytime she felt annoyed, how her upper lip twitches whenever she felt angry.
and Jisoo casually stopping herself mid rant to open a bag of chips that Chaeyoung have been struggling to open but is too lazy to get a pair of scissors.
That 's when it was clear to Chaeyoung that this girl she meet in highschool - was not just her bestfriend, she was everything to Chaeyoung.
.
Years later when Chaeyoung gets asked if she wished that she and Jisoo started their relationship earlier and saved themselves the heartbreak of past romances.
She didn't.
Because every dead-end street led them to each other.
