"I should - what?" Jisoo asked her bestfriend. This one of their sessions where they dump on each other about the latest shitty thing that's been happening to them
"Look on the brighter side of things" Lisa repeated
"You look on the brighter side of things" Jisoo scoffs and leaves the room, Lisa didn't bother to stop her. Jisoo was the Queen of walking out of things that bothered her - it was a trait that Lisa admires and fears at the same time.
Lisa sighs and her phone dings, it was Jennie - her girlfriend, asking what happened with Jisoo. she types idk and a smiling emoji which means she's dead tired about her bestfriends' bullshit.

That was 6 months ago.
"Who's this chick now?" Jennie says under her breath - Jisoo had just arrived with a new blonde in her arms
"Hi, guys. This is Chaeyoung"
"Hi" the blonde named Chaeyoung says, "I'm going to get us drinks, okay?" she says to Jisoo and then kissed her on the cheeks
"Who's the girl? and when are we gonna get rid of her?" Lisa asks. Jennie stifles a laugh.
"Never" Jisoo answers, "She is perfect"
"And I'm gonna pretend you didn't say that about your latest - what? 5 flings?"
Jisoo ignores Lisa, "She's not a fling"
"Great! where did you meet her?" Jennie asks, deciding to be the better friend
"Art Gallery - she's a singer and she was looking for inspiration and she bumped into me"
"Starving artist - that's a new one" Lisa says, "and it didn't occur to you that maybe she's kinda just using you"
"She doesn't know I'm who I am"
"Are you drunk already? Everybody knows who you are"
"Well she doesn't" Jisoo defends
"Well it's a tactic - she's in it for your money and connections"
They were so into the conversation that they didn't notice Chaeyoung coming back and hearing everything.
"Don't worry about your friends money - I own my label and I'm doing pretty good in life"
"How good?' Lisa asks, eyes narrowing
"I live at the upper east side"
Jennie claps her hand because that was clearly the end of that discussion, "Let's start over"
...
A few more months Lisa was still tentative with Chaeyoung - it's not like she didn't like the girl. As Jisoo's bestfriend it was her duty to be prepared, given the track record she was in the right.
"You know I'm surprised you lasted" Lisa says to Chaeyoung one evening. Jisoo and Jennie was out looking for food and more booze
"I take it you don't like me?" Chaeyoung says unimpressed
"It doesn't matter whether I like you or not - I think you're great but it doesn't changed the fact that Jisoo is Jisoo"
"And what does that mean?"
"Jisoo is... different. And not in the rich spoiled brat I'm sure you've seen her act - in a way that she's a misfit" Lisa explains, "She's damaged goods at best"
"Are you really gonna say that about your friend?" Chaeyoung asks
"I am her friend - that's why I can say that"
"Well you're wrong - she's not a misfit. Not with me"
"Good" is what Lisa says before handing Chaeyoung another beer.
..
Lisa was waiting for Jisoo to arrive at her pad, this was the night Chaeyoung will meet Jisoo's parents and if the past is any indication, Jisoo will arrive at her door, single and looking for alcohol.
But she feel asleep on the sofa, with Jennie snoring softly beside her. She guesses that Jisoo's parent's have changed and didn't inflict the usual trauma they do on their daughter.
She guessed wrong.
They did but instead of Jisoo coming over to cry about it to Lisa - she and Chaeyoung went back home and had a bottle wine to drown out her parents' voices that was stuck in her head.
Lisa was glad.
Jisoo was a jigsaw puzzle and Chaeyoung was her perfect fit. They are perfect down to every curve and cracks.
A/N: We can only hope that we fine love like that. The one that stays. I'm back - sort of. I'm a spiel of dark void something. I hope everyone is doing fine tho!
