"I'm asking Chaeyoung out on a date" Jisoo announced as soon as she sat down on the cafeteria bench with her friends
Jennie, her best friend turns to Seulgi, "Did you give her one of your pot brownies again?"
Jisoo shoots her a glare before deciding - she's way too pumped with the idea of Park Chaeyoung being her date for tomorrow's foundation day - that she decided to let the comment go and tell her friends her very elaborate plan
"Is Chaeyoung single?" She asks the group
Taehyung, Jennie, Seulgi and Nayeon nodded in response, "And is tomorrow the school's foundation day?" She asks again
"Honey, you might think this is exciting for us - it's not so just get on with your point" Jennie takes a mouthful of her fries and smiles
"Well she's single and there's a program tomorrow - so I figured I'll just ask her out" Jisoo says
"How? You know she's single for reason right?" Nayeon pipes in
"She's terrifying" Taehyung stated
Jisoo was about to speak but Jennie interrupted her, "They're not wrong, you know"
"She's not terrifying" Jisoo insists, "I'm gonna have flowers delivered later and she has band practice so she'll stay behind"
"Did you remember when Jaehyun gave her flowers?" Jennie asked
Jisoo pretends to think, "No"
"She scissored them in front of the whole class - she's terrifying" Nayeon reminded her and shuddered
"When did that happen?" Jisoo asked
"Like a few weeks ago? You're probably too busy daydreaming about her and her torture chamber to notice" Taehyung laughed
"I'll ask Chaeyoung Park on a date and you guys can suck it" Jisoo states confidently
"Oh we will definitely suck it but we'll also be watching just in case she dismembers you" Jennie beamed and stole another mouthful of her fries

The thing is - Jisoo was a hopeless romantic - emphasis on the romantic cause she is.
She puts Paris in shame, honestly.
And so she spent her last period up on the rooftop - she was painting the roses she ordered black. She's gonna sprinkle it on the floor - she should really stop reading romance novels.
Then of course she got pink tulips - cause duh? who doesn't want pink tulips and she also made a handmade bouquet of Chaeyoung's favorite snacks - how she knows that? Secret.
But then the rooftop door opens and it's Park Chaeyoung - Jisoo sat there frozen in shock. Her surprise was foiled.
"Hey, Kim" Chaeyoung greets once the initial shock was gone, "I didn't peg you to be the kind of girl that skips classes"
Jisoo took a moment to respond because she just heard the word 'peg' come out her crush's mouth, "Uh...I-"
"Don't worry, I won't tell" she assures Jisoo but that wasn't why she was having a slight panic attack - the principal is her godmother so she could care less about getting caught skipping class
"What are you...uh - why are you here?" Jisoo asked
"Needed fresh air - you?"
Jisoo motions to the flowers and snacks surrounding her, "I was kinda prepping for a surprise" she said sheepishly
"Cool, what for?"
"I'm gonna ask someone on a date for tomorrow" She beamed, "I was gonna scatter the black petals and hand her the tulips while I'm a believer by smash mouth plays and I also made a bouquet of her favorite snacks" Jisoo explained
"Cool"
"..Yes - cool"
No amount of romance novels have prepared her for this - why wasn't there a chapter where the surprise gets foiled? damn it!
"So, who's the girl?" Chaeyoung asks
"Uh..."
"Aw, come on - it's not like I'll tell her"
"The thing is - she'll know when I tell you"
"What?- oh" Chaeyoung stares at her, "Oh" she repeats
They just stared at each other awkwardly
"So how do you wanna do this?" Jisoo jokes, "I mean if you reject me now -I'll just ask you again later so might as well say yes now" she adds confidently and she swears for a second she actually thought Chaeyoung was gonna dismember her
"Okay, cool"
Jisoo's eyes felt like budging out of their sockets, "Cool?"
"Yeah, It's cute"
Jisoo can feel her entire body heating up because of that - "Cool, uh... can you like be late for band practice for like 5 minutes and act surprise when you see me?"
"Sure" Chaeyoung laughs
How is that terrifying? Jisoo asks herself
...
And then I saw her face, now I'm a believer
Not a trace, of doubt in my mind
I'm in love, I'm a believer
Jisoo swore her friends' jaw hit the floor when Chaeyoung said yes.
"She was terrifying - like 5 minutes ago" Taehyung mumbled
"I know, I heard her threatening that new kid if he ever looked at her again she will gauge her eyes out" Nayeon says still in shock
"What if - we were hit by an asteroid and this is all a dream or a hallucination" Jennie wondered
"What are you three doofus looking at" Chaeyoung snaps at them and they all scattered away
A/N: I'm pretending I don't have a bunch of assignment in hopes that they disappear - also college applications are stressing me out. I think I lost a couple of my hair just by thinking about it.
