Ally's Pov:

Axel and I turned our heads to see a guy that I didn't quite recognize behind us. But Axel seemed to recognize him because he rolled his eyes.

"What are you doing here, Dylan?" Axel asks with a look of annoyance.

"Here to see my favorite roomie, obvi." The guy who I now know as Dylan says, taking a chair from the table beside ours and pulling it up to the free spot beside Claire.

Dylan places his elbows on the table, the corners of his lips turning up into a grin as he notices the annoyed grin that Axel was giving him.

So this must be the roommate that Axel was talking about, the one who has been forcing him to go to parties with him.

Axel hasn't mentioned much about him, but I've heard that he's a bit of a player around campus. I don't doubt it, because he gives off a flirty vibe.

"Oh really? Or was it because you couldn't stand the thought of me eating dinner with anyone else but you." Axel says, causing Dylan's mouth to drop as he puts a hand over his chest.

"That is not true," he draws out, waiting for a couple of seconds before adding, "and so what if it was?"

Claire, Zoe, Sophia, and I laugh as the two boys continue to bicker. It went on for a couple of minutes until Dylan put his arms up in defense.

"Okay fine, but at least I now know why you didn't want me to tag along, you wanted all of these gorgeous ladies to yourself." Dylan winks at the four of us, and I have to keep from laughing even harder as Axel groans, rubbing his hand over the side of his face.

"The reason why I didn't ask you to come with me was for this exact reason." He mumbles under his breath, but it wasn't that quiet because Dylan lets out an exasperated gasp.

"Why? Because I have game and you don't." He smirks, shifting his body towards us girls again.

"I promise you, they aren't interested-..."

"And what is your name?" Dylan interrupts Axel by turning towards Claire, and as one would expect, she starts flirting back.

Zoe and I give each other looks from across the table, noticing how Claire begins to twirl a strand of hair around her finger while answering his questions.

Well, that was strangely quick.

I feel a nudge to my side, and I turn towards Axel to see a small frown on his face.

"What's wrong?" I whisper, my head tilting to the side as he sighs.

"Nothing, I just..." He looks up at Dylan for a quick second, before looking back at me, "it's nothing." He whispers, his head dropping as if he was embarrassed.

I put my hand on his arm, "You can tell me."

Dylan and Claire were too engaged in their conversation to notice us talking, while Zoe and Sophia stood up to get more food.

"I didn't want to bring him for a reason." he looks back up at me, and although I knew he was talking about Dylan, I couldn't understand why he wouldn't want to bring him along.

I mean, Dylan's his best friend.

His roommate.

And although Dylan is definitely, something else, he seems like a nice guy.

"Why?" I ask.

He has to think for a second, before responding.

"He's a bit of a flirt, and without meaning to, he's ruined quite a few friendships I've had with girls before. He had hooked up with them and given them hope for a relationship, and I just ended up being guilty by association. I didn't want the same thing happening to us." He admits, his cheeks turning a light shade of pink as he rubs the back of his neck.
