Ally's pov:
Axel ended up only staying for a little while longer after getting the call from Dylan, demanding to know where he was. It was funny seeing this dynamic between the two of them, because I assume that it's normally the opposite way around on most weekends.
Axel mentioned that he is always the one making sure that Dylan hasn't ended up in a ditch somewhere on campus, so it was nice being on the receiving end of the stressed out roommate for once.
After what must had been the fiftieth text from Dylan, Axel decided to spare him the heart attack and tell him that he was safe and ended up crashing at my place for the night.
After hearing that his roommate was safe, Dylan quickly got over it and demanded that Axel hand over the phone to me because I was "better to talk to anyways."
That made Axel grumpy, and again, he hung up on him a second time.
How Axel and Dylan haven't strangled each other is beyond me, and will continue to be one of life's greatest mysteries.
When we finally rolled out of my bed to begin the day, Axel and I came up with a plan for tonight. We agreed for him to get us at around 10:00pm.
Once he disappeared down the hall to head back to the house, Claire and Zoe must have sensed him leaving because they appeared out of thin air, with matching grins on their faces.
I don't even look at them as I mutter, "just say it, I know you want to."
They both look at each other, before pulling me back into the room and closing the door behind us. They must have been eagerly waiting for him to leave ever since they caught us on my bed, because they look way too energized for it only being nine in the morning.
"Say what? That I was right and you two are crushing on each other so hard that it's unbelievable that you haven't done anything about it yet?" Claire says, innocently blinking her eyes at me.
I playfully nudge her away, before hopping back up on my bed, "You both are insane."
Their mouths drop open in shock, taking offense to the fact that I was the one calling them insane.
And they are right to think that.
After last night, I think all that was left of my sanity has left.
I like Axel.
I like being Axel's friend.
I like, like Axel.
I don't want to mess up our friendship.
I really, really like Axel...
See?! It never ends, and I wouldn't be surprised if my head swells from all this built up stress.
"If anyone is insane, it's you two being insane for eachother." Zoe says, earning a high five from Claire for her remark.
"She's right, and if the constant flirting and touching wasn't enough proof, then I don't know what else you need to prove that this man is obsessed with you." Claire says, while Zoe nods approvingly.
I shrug my shoulders, because even though they aren't wrong, that is clear evidence that someone has a crush, the whole idea of confronting it still makes me nervous.
"I'm just playing it day by day. I like where we are now, even if there is a lot of... tension between us." I say, admitting my thoughts out loud.
"You mean sexual tension." Claire says, while giving me a wink.
My mouth parts from her words, but yet, I don't deny it.
They both squeal at my silence.
