Ally's pov:
So there are two ways that I can go about this. I can either be straightforward with my friends and tell them that Axel will be joining us for dinner, or just wait for them to find out themselves.
It doesn't matter though, because I know that I will be brutally harassed by Claire either way. She's dropped many 'casual' hints about how she thought we would be a cute match if I had the confidence to approach him on campus.
As if she didn't hear that he didn't even do relationships the same time as I did.
It's funny how things work out though because I wasn't the one who had to do the approaching anyways.
I'm sure they won't mind him joining us for dinner, Zoe and Claire thought he was a pretty nice guy when they met him.
The only problem would have to be the rumors that would start up again. I know I shouldn't care, and it's not something that usually bothers me.
But rumors suck. I wish people knew how to mind their own business and try not to overanalyze everything.
Like, c'mon people, we are in college, this isn't high school anymore. There is no reason to dislike people you don't even know.
We are all just trying to push through and get our degrees. We all share the same pain.
After Axel left for practice, I sat under the tree for another hour. Listening to music and people-watching to calm the sudden nerves in my stomach.
Was I surprised Axel approached me?
Absolutely.
The last two days consisted of learning the extent of Axel's popularity and the importance of breaking the school's history of having its first win in the National Collegiate Boxing Association, aka, the NCBA. I swear everyone on this campus knew who Axel was.
I seriously didn't realize boxing was that big of a deal around here. Back home it was, and I'm proud to say I've been to quite a bit of boxing matches back at home.
Every single one of my guy friends was on the high school team at some point, and from the hours of sitting at lunch and listening to it, I can ensure that I know a thing or two about it.
Walking into my dorm, I find the lights in the room are on, and Claire sitting at her desk on her computer watching what looks to be some Pixar movie.
"I was wondering when you'd be back," Claire says, shutting her laptop and turning towards me with a small grin.
I put my phone and key chain on my bed and cross my arms over my chest, giving her a look.
"I decided to sit outside and get some fresh air. I tried to take a nap earlier when I found you passed out, but I couldn't get myself to fall asleep."
She nods, one leg crossing over the others as she peers up at me.
"I assumed that's what you did. I memorized all your schedules by heart, so I already knew you were done for the day."
"That's creepy."
"What?"
"I don't even know my own schedule; how do you already know mine?"
She laughs while tapping her head with her pointer finger, "photographic memory."
I roll my eyes, "photographic memory my ass. It took you three days to remember our room number."
She shrugs, "my photographic memory is selective."
"I'm sure it is." I laugh, before hopping up on my bed.
