Ally's Pov:

After finishing Mean Girls, we decided to watch one more movie together before Axel goes back to his house to get there before his roommates come back from partying.

But during the middle of the second movie, I found myself fighting to stay awake. I planned to hide the fact that I was tired because I knew that as soon as Axel saw I was ready to pass out, he would leave so that I could sleep.

Because not only was I enjoying this movie night, but spending it with someone like Axel has made it so much more fun. I don't want this night to come to an early end.

I was yawning for the third time in a row before I heard Axel chuckling from beside me.

"Hmmm?" I question, turning my head towards him to see him staring back at me with amusement.

"If you're tired, all you have to do is say so. I don't want to keep you up." He says, pausing the movie.

I shake my head, "No, I'm alright. We can keep watching."

Even though he was right, since I'm bordering absolute exhaustion, I have been dreading the time that he would actually say that he would be leaving.

So if fighting exhaustion is the only way to get him to stay a little bit longer, then so be it.

I thought it was a pretty good plan, to hide my tiredness to get him to stay, but I forgot that this was Axel I'm talking about.

No matter how hard I try to hide it, he picks up on the smallest of things, and I can't decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

"Ally," he laughs, grabbing my hand before I was able to rub my sleepy eyes, "you don't have to stay awake because of me. I'm the one who joined you here unexpectedly, you're allowed to kick me out."

It must have been either the exhaustion or the fact that I really didn't want him to leave for me to then say, "I don't want you to leave."

My words cause him to freeze, and instantly, I regret the words from leaving my mouth. I don't want him to think that I'm desperate for him to stay, even though I kinda am.

I've never felt this way with any guy before, and I don't want to accidentally push him away by coming off too strong.

His mouth opens, then closes, then opens again, as if he was debating with himself the right thing to say.

"But... I understand that it's late and you should get back to your place before your roommates worry. I can walk you out if you want?" I find myself rambling as I begin to sit up, not giving him the chance to answer my previous words.

But just as I am about to climb out of the bed, he grabs my arm, stopping me from moving any further.

"Do you want me to stay?" He asks, as if my words from before had finally clicked.

His question catches me off guard, and for a second, I don't know how to respond.

"I-... uhm... you don't have to stay. But if you want to..." I wave my hand down to the bed.

Even though we shared a bed before, it wasn't a twin-sized mattress that left us only a little room to move without being on top of each other to avoid falling off the bed.

Although we did end up cuddling throughout the night last time....

It's still not the same.

I watch as the corner of his lip lifts, as if he was trying to hold back a grin, "Are you asking me to sleepover over, Ally Sanders?" He teases, using my last name.
