Ally's pov:

Don't make eye contact with Claire.

Don't make eye contact with Claire.

Don't make-....

I made eye contact with Claire.

"What?" My words came out a bit more defensive than I meant to, but after thirty minutes of her giving me looks from her side of the room, I couldn't find it in me to hold back.

I know what she is thinking.

It is quite obvious.

I don't know how I thought I could get away with it, knowing that my new best friend was indeed nosey as hell.

"I didn't say anything," She responds with the corners of her lips turned up into a grin and an evil glint in her eyes. This is the same look she has been giving me for the past thirty minutes.

"But I know you want to, so just say it." I tell her, just wanting to get the conservation over with.

She hasn't mentioned anything about Axel since we got back from dinner, and just know she is dying to do so.

I could see it in her eyes as soon as we walked into the dorms.

She turns her body towards me while interlocking her hands in her lap. By the time she starts opening her mouth, I already know that it's too late to take back my words.

Maybe I don't want to know...

I shouldn't have said anything.

"I'm just saying..." She draws out carefully, "you two would make a cute couple."

Here we go.

"Is that all?" I ask, my eyebrows lifting.

Of course, when it comes to Claire, there is never a simple ending.

She narrows her eyes at me, "What, you don't believe me?" She asks in an accusing away, and I quickly shake my head.

"It's not that, I just-... we're just friends." I stumble over my words, my legs swinging back and forth off my bed that was four feet in the air.

"I know that, but I just had to put it out there. You're hot, he's hot, it works." She says, more so to herself as she closes her eyes, picturing what I assume would be Axel and I as a couple.

Oh god.

She's crazy.

My roommate has officially lost her mind.

"Since you did just call me hot, I'll take what you said as a compliment." I try to joke, leaning back on my bed.

After we got back to my room after dinner, the four of us talked for two hours or so before Zoe and Sophia went back to their room and called it a night.

It has been a long day, and all I wanted to do was shower, maybe call my sister for a bit, then get some sleep.

Obviously, that wasn't the case because as soon as I got back from my shower, Claire had been giving me these looks, and in that moment, I knew that calling my sister would have to wait until tomorrow.

But since Claire was bringing Axel up, I only found it fair to give her a taste of her own medicine.

"Since we are on this topic, I couldn't help but notice you and Dylan chatting it up at dinner, anything I should know about?" I ask, trying to hold back a grin as I await her answer.

But to my dismay, she waves her hand in dismiss, "He's cool and extremely attractive and all, but not my type."

Okay, I was definitely not expecting that.
