"While she brought peace and calm to my life,

I brought worry and chaos to hers...!!"

Liam's P.O.V.

"Hey." A small smile spread across my face when I saw mom standing on the other side of the door. "I thought you might want to talk now?" She asked in a tender voice, making her way inside the room.

"Actually yes," I admitted, following mom after closing the door behind me.

Mom made herself comfortable, sitting cross-legged on the bed and I lay close to her, resting my head on her lap. She started brushing my hair with the fingers of her right hand, tenderly and I closed my eyes, letting out a deep sigh.

I narrated the whole story to her, starting from how I got mad at Alya when she first said yes for the performance and then told her to go for it when she dropped the idea. I told mom about my insecurity, every time, I imagined Alya and Zac together; how I was too rude to my girl and asked her to drop out of the charity show, just 2 days before the performance.

"That's so unfair." Mom said once I had stopped talking. "You can't do that, Li. Especially when you were the one who convinced her to go for the show." She spoke in a low voice, still brushing my hair with her fingers and I met her gaze.

"I know, mom. I know. But afterward, I told her that I was cool with it." I said and she nodded her head, slightly.

"Is that all then?" She inquired and I shook my head twice before looking away.

Intertwining my right hand with her free one, I started speaking again. "Then last night, I told her to quit doing the charity shows after she was done with this performance." The second those words left my mouth, mom stopped brushing my hair and I looked up.

"What?" Her voice was still low and it seemed as if she been taken aback by my words.

I nodded my head, feeling too ashamed of my behavior and looked away before speaking again, "I told her that she could use my money to run her charities and that, she should just move in with me." I could feel mom's stare fixated on my face then but I knew if I looked up, I would not be able to finish what I had to say.

"What did she say then?" She asked in a low voice and I gave a gentle squeeze to her hand. "She said she won't quit," I told her.

"I'm glad she did!" Mom was prompt with the response and instantly, I glanced at her in order to make sure that she was serious.

"You mean she did the right thing by saying no?" I asked with raised brows and she nodded her head in response.

"Absolutely!" She remarked. "How could you even ask her to quit her job, Li?" She sounded too shocked then, shaking her head at me disappointingly.
