"Pay attention, I hope that you listen

'Cause I let my guard down...

Right now, I'm completely defenseless.

For your eyes only, I show you my heart...!!"

Alya's P.O.V.

"I didn't mean to lie to you." Liam sounded guilty and conscience-stricken while I sat myself on the floor; my knees pressed against my breast.

"Then why did you?" I asked in a whispering tone, trying my best to hold back the tears that had started welling up my eyes by then.

"I.. I just.. I don't know." He huffed, letting out a frustrated sigh.

I don't know why, but I'm having a strong gut feeling that whatever is wrong with him, it is because of me. I mean it is so obvious at this minute. However, what could've happened, that all of a sudden he has started ignoring me? Should I just ask him the reason outright?

"Baby if you don't want to be in this relationship anymore, you can tell me?"

Those words came out of my mouth louder than I'd expected and I immediately covered my mouth with the palm of my free hand. Shit! I was supposed to be thinking them in my mind and not, blurting it out like that.

The line fell silent after that and my deepest fears tended to be coming true. I was right. Indeed, it is because of me! Stream of tears rolled down my face and I took my lower lip in between my teeth, closing my eyes tightly to suppress the sobs.

"I'm coming right now." Liam's stern voice came from the other end of the line and before I could say a word, he cut the call.

Hastily, getting up from the floor, I made my way to the washroom and washed my face before heading towards the lobby. I started pacing back and forth, pondering over what was Liam going to say and do when he would arrive at my place. He did not seem to be in one of his pleasant moods though.

I was completely lost in my thoughts when the doorbell of my house rang and my steps instantly froze; my gaze fixated on the wooden door in front of me. The doorbell kept ringing repeatedly and I paced across the lobby before opening the door. Liam stepped inside without saying a word and I locked the door again.

Closing my eyes, I drew in a deep breath and finally turned around, only to find Liam staring at the wooden floor, with his one hand resting on his waist while he was massaging his temple with the other one.

I kept standing at the same spot, not knowing what to do or what to say. I patiently waited for him to say something... Anything.

Just please don't break up with me, Liam.

Finally looking up from the floor, he met my eyes and opened his mouth to speak but then, he didn't. He peered at me in confusion and it seemed as if he was in deep thoughts. His brows pulled together in a furrow, causing the lines on his forehead to become evident and I couldn't dare to look away.

"Do you really think I don't wanna be in relationship with you?" He finally asked, his voice was harsh and his eyes held no hint of joking while I kept mum. It was as if my mind had stopped working all of a sudden. I was speechless!

"Especially after all those things we've been through in the past two months?" He spoke again, his hands were then resting on either side of waist and his brows were pulled together in a furrow; his stare never left my face.
