Chapter 5

TW: Sexual Assault in both chapters 5 and 6

*Hours have passed - back at the station*

{AID CAR 19, ENGINE 19, LADDER 19 Civilian in distress at Denny Park}

The team ran towards the barn, donned their turnouts and headed to the park. Upon arrival, Andy could see a lady, early 20's stuck in a tree, blood dripping from multiple places on her body and gripping the branch with white knuckled hands. A knife lay on the floor under the tree and a male, around 30 was on the ground with a bloody nose and bruised throat. The woman in the tree was hyperventilating and fixated on the man laying on the ground.

"19! Listen up!" Captain shouted.

"Miller, Gibson, get that ladder in place with Hughes and I on it now! Montgomery, carefully, and I mean carefully! Approach the man and triage as best you can. Warren, give Montgomery a hand and radio dispatch for a second AID car. Bishop, get PD on the phone and here as soon as you can! Go!"

"Yes Cap!" Everyone said in unison.

Andy and Vic had reached the lady in the tree and tried to calm her down to assess her injuries.

"Ma'am can you tell me your name?" Andy enquired.

"J..J..Josie" she stuttered.

"Josie, OK... Josie, can you tell me where it hurts the most?"

"Everywhere!"

"OK, can we get you down and help.."

"No! No I can't!" She screamed before Andy could finish her sentence.

"Ok! It's ok!" Vic and Andy said, raising their hands as a sign of understanding.

*Radio*

Captain: "Montgomery, Warren, update please!'

Montgomery: "Unconscious, weak pulse, unsteady breathing! Injuries to the nose and throat. Permission to take the Aid car to Grey-Sloan?"

Captain: "Granted, Gibson go with Montgomery and get him out of here as quick as you can so we can get Josie down from here!"

Montgomery - Gibson: "Copy Cap!"

*Back to Josie*

Andy spoke softly to Josie who's breathing seemed a little more steady as the male was carried away. "Josie, he's gone now, he can't hurt you anymore. Can you let us help you?"

She nodded, not taking her eyes off the AID car as it drove off towards the hospital.

Vic chiming in now offered Josie her hands for support. "Come on, take my hands, lets get you down from there."

With the adrenaline starting to wear off now, Josie began to feel pain and let out a scream. "My legs!"

Andy and Vic took a look as they managed to get her on to the ladder. Deep gashes could be seen on her inner thighs, her clothes cut and blood trickling to the floor. Vic looked at Andy and they exchanged a silent, very concerned look that they each understood. Josie needed a hospital and fast.

*Radio*

Captain: "Warren, what's the ETA on that AID car?!"

Warren: "2 minutes out cap!"

Captain: "Get me whatever supplies we have from the engine, we are going to need to place as much pressure as we can whilst we wait! She's losing blood fast!"

Warren: "Copy captain!"

Andy looked back at Josie, Vic holding her as the ladder slowly reached the ground. "It's going to be OK Josie I just need you to stay with me. Stay with me, OK?"
