Sullivan and the rest of 19 had finished securing the scene and were heading back to the station. The atmosphere on the engine and ladder was... frosty... to say the least. Everyone wanted to ask Sullivan about Andy and his family, but no one knew where to start or how to bring it up. So they all sat there in an eerie silence watching the world go by out the windows. When they eventually got back, Sullivan stepped out of the truck and called the team over.
"19, I'm sorry for today and how you found out about Andy and I, I know you all have questions and concerns and probably at this point feel a little betrayed, or like you can't trust us. There's a reason we kept it this way for so many years. However, I'm sure you'd all rather speak to Andy about it so when things have settled down with our daughter and we know she's OK, we will all sit down together and try our best to explain, ok?"
"Yes, Chief" they all replied.
"Do you have an update on your daughter at all sir? Is she ok?" Montgomery asked, genuine concern for the new niece he'd just found out about.
"I don't, i'm afraid, I was just going to give Andy a call."
Robert didn't have time to call Andy before he saw that Vic was already calling him.
*Phone Call*
Robert: "Hughes?"
Vic: "Hi, Robert, I've got an update on Savannah."
Robert gave a nod to the team to let them know it was about Savannah and to wait to hear what Vic had to say.
Robert: "Oh good, how is she, are they letting her out?" He eagerly asked.
Vic: "No, but they've said it's nothing to worry about, they would just like her oxygen levels to come up first before releasing her."
Robert: "Okay so they're just keeping her in to monitor her, got it, good, that's good."
Vic: "She does have an ankle fracture, so she's going to need a cast on for 6 weeks. Dr. Lincoln and Dr. Karev are doing that as we speak."
Robert: "Ok, I'm just going to get changed, I need to grab the boys from Molly and I'll be over."
Vic: "Before you go, I just wanted to let you know that Luke and I are going to take the boys home with us tonight so that you two can stay with Vannah, oh, and she asked if you could please bring Mr Floppy with you?"
Robert: "Vic are you sure? That's a lot to ask of you both?"
Vic: "Of course I'm sure, we wouldn't have it any other way. I'm just going to ring Luke now and tell him, Andy will text you the room number when we have it."
Robert: "Thanks so much Vic, I'll see you soon."
"Umm, sir, I know we're not supposed to be asking questions right now..." Miller probed.
"What is it Miller?" He asked, a little agitated that he had ignored the request.
"Who are 'the boys'?"
'Crap' Robert thought to himself, not realising the team was still there when he spoke about going to get them. "So, umm, as well as our 5 year old daughter Savannah, who you all saw today... We also have 10 month old twin boys, Enzo and Grayson." He stroked the back of his bald head, unsure what their reaction would be."
"Twins?!" Gibson shouted.
"Yes, twins. Now I'm sorry, but I really do need to get going. Oh and as for your concerns for Savannah... She's doing ok, staying in overnight for observation and she has a fractured ankle. It could have all been much, much worse though, so I'll take it." He stated, nodding at the team as he turned and left in the direction of his office.

FanfictionHi friends, This is a Surrera and Vicley story! Mostly Surrera but I love Vicley too🥹 In this story, Ripley hasn't died, Sullivan is Battalion Chief and Herrera is captain. Michael is also still alive and works at Station 88. I appreciate the dates...
