Chapter 43

For the entire car ride Robert could feel that Andy was anxious. He'd just put it down to going back to the hospital, somewhere they'd only just gotten away from. Andy, however, was really just an anxious mess because of her scan. She hated lying to Robert and to Savannah, but she didn't want to get either of their hopes up before she'd seen the baby on the monitor and heard their heartbeat. In the back of her mind she was thinking something was wrong because she'd been so stressed and the baby was still so small, so she wasn't in a great headspace anyway. She was also terrified that being back here would trigger Savannah, but she believed in Robert's idea and wanted to take steps forward and not back.

"Honey, everything is fine." Robert whispered.

"I know, I know I 'm sorry."

"Will you let me know the minute V I C is finished?" He asked.

"Of course I will. I appreciate that you want to be there for her too, I just know she doesn't want that one," she motioned to her daughter, "to know incase something is wrong or she tells Luke by accident. It's just easier this way. But as soon as we're done we'll come and see you all and say I called her to come and see Vannah or something, ok?" She rambled, still in a hushed tone.

"Ok, just make sure everything's alright. If I can't be there and something is wrong, Luke will never forgive me." He was worrying a bit himself now.

"I'm sure everything will be just fine. I will call you if it's not. Please try not to worry. Your job is.."

"To focus on her, I know, I know. I will and I'm sorry I don't mean to keep going on." He stopped at a traffic light.

"Hey, look at me, we're all okay." She said, rubbing from his head to his neck. "We are all going to be just fine." He smiled at her, leant in for a kiss and then looked back towards the road.

They pulled up to the parking lot and thankfully both boys were still asleep, her plan was working.

"Okay baby you're going to go in with Daddy and try and find Meredith, Carina and Amelia. Do you remember what to ask them?" Andy questioned.

"I have to ask them to choose a piece of paper from my Santa hat with their eyes closed. Then I have to make sure they didn't pick out themselves. If they did, they have to do it again, right?"

"You've got it gorgeous! If Meredith's kids are there you can ask them too, ok? But if not, Daddy will help you to get Meredith and Amelia to choose from the kids hat for their own children. Does Daddy understand that?" She turned and asked him, teasing him slightly.

"Daddy understands that just fine, thank you very much you little Minx." He chuckled.

"Perfect. I might have someone come and see us when you're done and we can go and have lunch together. But it's a secret." She put her finger against her lips, miming 'shh'.

"Ooooh okay! I hope it's Auntie Vic! Don't forget the Jell-o Mummy!" Savannah squealed as she jumped down from the car with Robert.

"I won't I promise, see you later you goofball, I love you."

"We love you too," Robert turned and said back.

Andy quickly text Vic telling her she was in the car park and went to get the double stroller out the trunk. She'd bought their travel system one as it meant she could just clip in the car seats without having to move or wake them up.

Vic pulled up not too far from Andy and came to help get them out of the car, she picked up Enzo's car seat and tried to clip it on. "Andy this is impossible, how on Earth are you supposed to do this?"
