I'm sorry in advance 🙃 TW: Plane... issues.

The alarm went off at 4 in the morning leading to several moans and groans from Vic. "Turn it off" she whined.

"Come on beautiful, time to get up." He encouraged, leaving his nice warm bed to go and take a shower.

He purposefully left the door open so she could see him, hoping it would entice her to get up without complaining.

She rolled on to her front and covered her head with his pillow trying to block out the light from the bathroom. However, the smell from his body wash was pulling her from her slumber and she soon found herself stepping in to the shower with him. She wrapped he arms around his waist and kissed his back. "Mmm good morning my love." She murmured.

"Good morning Eggy, how's my girl?"

"I would be better if we were still in bed. I don't want to go back, It's so nice not having to pretend not to know you when we're out in public."

"Come here" he said as he turned around. He cupped her face with his hands and planted a soft kiss on her lips. The kiss got more passionate, their tongues moving in perfect unison as their hands explored each others bodies.

"We don't... have time... for this... Luke" Vic said, slightly out of breath.

"Fine, but when we get home... I'm having you all to myself!" He whispered as he gently nibbled on her ear.

He left a quick peck on her cheek and got out of the shower. Vic quickly washed herself and let the water run over her face for a few more minutes, relishing in the peace and quiet before getting out herself.

Jen dropped them both in the departure hall and gave them a hug goodbye. "Come back soon Luke, I love you. Vic, it was so lovely to see you again! Let's not leave it so long next time! Have a safe flight!"

"Thanks so much for having us, I had a great time! We'll see you soon." Vic replied, grabbing her suitcase and taking Luke's hand.

They made their way in to the airport, checked in and grabbed a seat in the restaurant for breakfast.

"Now, when we get home, you've got the rest of the day off but I'm going to pop to the station so it doesn't seem like we were together all weekend." Luke stated as their pancakes arrived.

"That's fine, are you going to speak to Andy and Robert? Is that why you're going to the station?"

"I did say I'd pop in when we got back. Partly as chief and partly as a friend. How do you feel about that? Is that ok?" Luke asked.

"It's fine, I just need to speak to Andy too, I don't want to talk about something this big over text. Could you maybe tell her I'm coming around to it all and that I'll talk to her on her next day off." Vic smiled, thinking about meeting the kids.

"Anything for you."

{Flight number AA156 to Seattle, now boarding at gate 12}

"Ooh that's us, let's go."

They made their way to gate 12 and boarded the plane, a Boeing 737-800. They were sat in 15 E and F on the over-wing exit seats as they had bought extra leg room to be more comfortable. Lucas was a little nervous of planes as he was there when Robert's parents died in a plane crash and the aftermath was horrendous. He was the Seattle fire chief, he had spent most of his living running in to burning buildings and jumping out of helicopters in to wild fires, but still he found it hard to be sat on an actual plane, helpless if anything were to go wrong. Vic squeezed his hands for take-off to reassure him and then once they were at the cruising altitude and the seat belt sign was switched off, she cuddled in to the crook of his neck and went to sleep.
