I took a deep breath and opened my eyes, smiling slightly.
It was my first morning in a month when I didn't wake up in the hospital bed. I finally got to sleep in.
I turned on my side and looked at the clock.
It was past lunchtime.
I pulled the blanket over my head and closed my eyes for a moment, enjoying the quietness.
"Fuck" I swore when I collided with someone. I looked up and sighed "Sorry"
"It's quite alright miss Snape" he smiled down at me. I rolled my eyes and cleared my throat.
"I was actually on my way to your office, but uhm it seems like I have to come back later"
"I will be back in ten minutes; you can go and wait me in my classroom"
"Okay" I stepped aside and put my lips in a straight line, the moment was awkward. Lupin chuckled and walked away. I made my way to his office.
A weird man he is, I thought to myself. For a moment I sat down on a random table, but soon got up when I saw the bookshelf he had. It was completely filled with books. I thought about him, how he gives off some nerd vibes.
There were books for everything. Classical literature, defense against the dark arts, few books what only pureblood families read, healing books. Literally everything.
I walked around, the room was nothing like Lockhart had it. That bastard had his face in every wall and floorboard. Disgusting man he was.
In the corner I saw a tank. I leaped closer and pulled a disgusted face when I saw what was in it.
"A grindylow" came a voice behind me. I straightened myself and turned around, Lupin had just stepped into the classroom.
"Yes, I know" I said, he smiled.
"Let's go up to my office, my papers are there" he was halfway up already. I rolled my eyes and followed him quickly. He took a seat on his chair and motioned me to sit on the chair in front of his table.
I took a seat and let my eyes wander around the room. Another bookshelf, full of books.
"You like to read?" I asked. He stopped with the paper ruffling and looked at me, eyebrows raised
"Yes, I enjoy it. You like to read?"
"Depends"
"On what?" he held a smile on his face.
"On my mood and on the book"
"Hm, what kind of books do you like?"
"I don't like some romance and cliché like that. Others are quite enjoyable"
He chuckled and pulled out a roll of parchment. As he was looking at the roll, I took the time to look at him. He had scars on his face, I saw them earlier but didn't really think about them. He had some gray in his hair, but mostly he had sandy brown hair.
The shabby clothes, I saw them yesterday.
"At the start of the year I had a small conversation with every student" he started, looking at me. "I asked them what they know about previous years and what they would like to learn this year. I can give you some time to think, tell me if you are ready"
"There's not much to think about. That git last year didn't teach us anything. Squirrel was okay, we learn what was in the book and so the years before"
"Hm"
"This year... I don't know, maybe how to conjure a Patronus?"
"It's hard thing to conjure" Lupin said "Not all of us can do it"
