Celebrations

"Venus and I got engaged"

After Remus announced our engagement the room went deadly quiet. It seemed like it lasted for minutes whilst it was just few seconds before people jumped off their seats and came over to congratulate us.

Molly and Abby seemed to be most excited about it. They were shocked but happy. They already made a decision to start planning the wedding tomorrow and make a dress for me.

"Didn't know you had the balls to ask her hand in marriage" Abby said to Remus. Remus laughed at her before bringing her into a hug.

"I am a man full of surprises" he said back

"You sure are. I am so happy for you two"

He just smiled at her happily.

Everyone had congratulated us expect for a one person, my own dad. I heard how Sirius told people to go to the living room, to throw a party, to celebrate the engagement, but I stayed still and looked at dad.

After people were out of the kitchen, Sirius shut the door behind him, leaving Remus and dad there with me.

"Go" Dad said to Remus.

"He is not going anywhere. We are getting married, he is family-"

"I want to talk to you privately"

I just shook my head and hold Remus there next to me. Remus looked complexed, like he didn't want to be there.

"I am going to tell him what you say anyways, so might as well tell it when he is here"

There was silence as he looked between Remus and I.

"Congratulations" he said before turning on his heels and walking out of the kitchen. I raised my eyebrows and looked at the opened door.

"Did he just-"

Remus didn't let me finish my sentence. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me against his chest, stroking my hair softly.

"He needs time"

Remus pressed a kiss on top of my head before resting his chin there.

"Let's celebrate our engagement, love"

I nodded and took his hand. When we opened the living room doors Sirius whistled and all people were looking at us with smiles on their faces. Sirius was quick to bring us glasses of champagne.

"It 's non-alcohol for you" Sirius whispered to me and I thanked him. It was really sweet gesture from him.

"Let's raise our glasses in honor of the two beautiful souls who have found each other amidst the vastness of life. As Abby said before, we didn't knew our Moony had the balls to ask Venus hand in marriage, but we are damn happy that you did" the sentence made Remus roll his eyes and others laugh.

"No, truly, I am incredibly happy to see you both happy and still madly in love. Love like yours is rare, and it's a reminder that true love knows no bounds. I better be the best man" Sirius said to the end before bringing his glass up and others followed.

We clinked our glasses together and everyone took a sip.

After everyone started to talk between themselves I turned to Remus, both of us smiling at each other.

I placed my hand on the back of his head before I pulled him down to kiss him.

"I am truly the happiest woman on Earth"

"And I am the happiest man on Earth"

Remus took my hand and walked us over to the couch where Sirius and Abby were sitting. They moved over so we could sit as well. Remus pulled me into his lap, not letting me sit on the couch.

"How are you two feeling?"

"Happy, just really really happy"

"James and Lily would have been happy for you, Moony" Sirius said. I felt my chest tightening. They didn't know.

"They would have been" Remus repeated quietly and rubbed my back. He placed a kiss on my shoulder before changing the topic.

I looked over to the door where Matilde had just walked in. She looked at me and smiled before walking up to us.

"Congratulations" She said, making Remus look at her.

"Thank you" he said and smiled politely.

"I was not expecting it to happen this soon though"

"Matilde" Remus sighed "leave it"

Remus tried to be as calm as possible. I placed my hand in his hair and ran my fingers through it, knowing it made him relax.

"I was just saying" she giggled "I am happy for you, for finding someone that makes you truly happy"

Remus nodded.

Matilde smiled at me and gave a curt nod before walking over to where Tonks was.

His two ex girlfriends were here, yet he chose me.

I looked at Remus, letting my eyes fall on his lips. And then I looked at his face overall. I knew every scar he had, I knew everything about his body, I was so used to it, but he still looked so handsome.

I smiled a little and kissed his cheek, making him turn to me with a smile on his lips.

"Everything alright?"

"Yes" I smiled "Would you please fill my glass?"

"Of course" he levitated the bottle towards us and filled my glass. I rolled my eyes at him but thanked him anyways.

"What" He laughed

"You couldn't just stand up and take the bottle?"

"Nope. First of all, you are sitting on my lap, secondly, we have magic so why not just use that and lastly, I am old"

"You are not old!" I frowned at him

He raised his eyebrow at me.

"I am soon 36, it's old"

"I don't want to fight with you, not now, not ever"

"I was just saying"

"Then keep your mouth shut, please" I smiled at him and then pecked his lips.

"You can hold my lips closed like that all the time" he whispered against my lips, both of us smiling.

"I still don't let you shag on my couch!" Sirius said

"Why not?" I smirked "would be-"

"No!"

I just laughed and rolled my eyes at him.

"Well, Remus, let's go upstairs and shag in one of his rooms, in one of his beds" I took Remus hand and stood up.

He grumbled, not wanting to get up.

"Hey!" Sirius said "sit back down" he said to me.

"Come one, love, I have a surprise for you" I winked at Remus. He smirked and stood up immediately.

We told others we were going to take a nap, Sirius just let out a barking laugh.

"Come back soon"

"We'll think about it"
