𝓤𝓷𝓽𝓲𝓵 𝓘 𝓯𝓸𝓾𝓷𝓭 𝔂𝓸𝓾 || 𝓡𝓮𝓶𝓾𝓼 𝓛𝓾𝓹𝓲𝓷

Hospital

Through my sleep, I heard two hushed voices that woke me up.

I opened my tired eyes and recognized both of the men in the room.

One of them was the doctor I saw before I collapsed and the other man was my handsome boyfriend.

My throat was dry and it hurt. My head was hurting and my body was too tired to move. So I just stared at them, hoping they would notice me.

"Rem" I tried to whisper after a moment. I really thought he wouldn't hear me, but he did. He turned his head towards me and looked me straight in my eyes.

He stopped listening to the doctor and with few big steps he was next to me. His one hand stroked my hair whilst the other found my hand and squeezed it a bit.

"Oh honey, how are you feeling?"

I motioned to my throat.

He took the glass from my bedside table and helped me to sit up. I shut my eyes, the banging in my head got even worse.

The doctor said something and left the room.

Remus stroked my back, trying to be there for me.

I opened my eyes when I felt the pain easing a bit.

I took the glass of water from his hands with my shaky hands and took a sip. Instantly I felt better.

"Better?" He asked me and watched as I took another sip. I nodded before handing the glass back to him and laying down.

I was scared to ask him. Ask him about Arthur. I was scared he would say Arthur was...gone. Dead. Because I couldn't save him.

I looked at Remus and then my bloody hands.

He took them in his and stroked his thumb over my knuckles.

Just as he was about to say something, the door opened and the doctor walked in, a vial in his hands.

He told me to drink all of that.

I gagged at the taste. I wanted to drink water on top of that but the doctor told me that the potion won't work then.

"How are you feeling, miss Snape?"

I shrugged my shoulders slowly. I looked at my hands and when I felt tears forming I closed my eyes. I placed my hands in front of my face.

I felt Remus sitting on the bed. He wrapped his arms around me and held me.

"Everything is alright, my love"

"It's not" I sobbed against his chest "I- I couldn't save him, right? I- I was late. It was supposed to be me not him"

"Love-"

"It was supposed to be me, Remus"

"Hey" he said and made me look at him. He cupped my cheeks and wiped away my tears with his thumbs. "Everything is alright, Arthur is alive and safe, his family is there with him-"

"He is a-alive? H-how?"

"You got there on time, you saved him, darling"

I burst into tears once again. Remus wrapped his arms around me and hugged me tightly. The doctor left us on our own.

"He is safe" I whispered

"He is"

"But- but it was supposed to be m-"

"Venus, no. Don't think about it. It's in the past now"

"Is- is he mad at me?"

"Why would he be?"

"Because I was late"

"No" he chuckled a little "he is really thankful for you, you were so brave, darling. He wants to see you when you are feeling better"

"Rem?"

"Hm?"

"Do they want me to stay here? I- I don't want to stay here. I- I want to go home"

"Of course we are going home. I wouldn't let you stay here"

Remus knew all about her summer before seventh grade. How she stayed in the hospital for months. He knew she didn't want to be here. She was scared they would make her take medicine that makes her dizzy and feel even more confused than before.

But Remus also knew that Venus had to stay for the night. She wasn't really herself. She was clearly traumatized from yesterday and even now when he heard her talking, she was different.

She was zoned out, not listening what he was saying or the doctor. She repeated over and over how Arthur is dead. How sorry she is. How it was supposed to be her.

Remus just sat there with her and hold her, not saying a word.

"Remus?"

"Yes, love?"

"Let's- I want to take a shower. There is- there is blood all over me" I whispered and showed him my arms. "Do you see?"

"I do" He nodded and looked at me "do you want to shower alone or with me?"

"With you"

"I am going to ask for a towels"

"Come back quickly" I said and hold his hand.

"Of course, beautiful" he said and kissed my forehead.

I watched as he walked out of the door. I pushed myself out of the bed, but had to hold against a wall to not fall back down.

I felt dizzy, but somehow managed to walk to the bathroom. I sat down on the floor and started to take off the clothes that were covered in Arthur's blood.

I saw all over again how Arthur was laying on the floor and I ran to him, trying me best to save him.

My breath started to quicken and I had to shut my eyes. I shook my head, trying to get the image out of my head.

I didn't feel how I punched a wall and my knuckles cracked. I didn't hear how Remus called for me.

I just felt how his arms were thrown around me and I was against a warm body again.

"Hey, hey, it's okay" he said "let's go back to bed and try to sleep a bit, yeah?"

"I- I can't" I sobbed

"We have dreamless potions, let's go, love. You need to rest" he said. I shook my head, still sitting on the floor and clutching his clothes in my hands, making his sweater a bit bloody.

Remus picked me up and walked me over to the bed. I refused to take the potion in, yet, he somehow managed to pour it into my mouth.

And then, within seconds, I was fast asleep.
