Engagement

"That is why I am asking you to be my wife. Will you marry me, Venus?"

I brought my hands up to my mouth, my eyes brimming with tears. 

I looked at Remus. He was on his knee, the silver ring between his thumb and index finger. He had a nervous but sweet smile on his face, his eyes were teary as well. 

Our song was still on the background, all the people in the restaurant were now looking at us. 

"Yes" I choked out and nodded furiously. Remus let out a relieved laugh and took my left hand in his. I watched as he slipped the ring on my finger and then stood up.

We heard people clapping and whistling. Remus wrapped his arms around me and we hugged each other tightly. We both had the biggest smiles on our faces. 

"I love you" I said to him and looked up at him. "So, so much" 

Remus laughed before leaning down and kissing me.

When we pulled away I wiped off the red lipstick from his lips. 

"I really have no words, Rem. I- I am just so fucking happy" 

"Makes the two of us" he whispered. We continued to swing back and forth, both being giddy like small kids. 

After a while we walked back to our table. Our waitress came up to us and brought a bottle of champagne with her, telling it was on house's expense. She poured it to the both of us before congratulation us. 

Remus and I clinked our glasses together. "To us" said Remus.

"To us" I repeated. We both took a sip, looking into each other's eyes lovingly. I turned my attention on the new ring on my left hand. I smiled and told Remus how beautiful it was.

It was simple yet elegant silver ring with a small diamond on it. It was exactly what I loved and Remus knew that. 

"So beautiful" I said again, making Remus smile. 

We continued to drink our champagne until the bottle got empty. By the end of it we were quite tipsy. Remus paid the bill, not letting me pay. 

He helped me to put on my coat and then we made our way out of the restaurant. It was past midnight by now and usually we were sleeping by that time, being old people and all. But we didn't want the night to end yet. 

Hand in hand, we walked around the dimly lit streets of London. 

"Want another bottle of champagne?" Remus asked me after we found a place that was still selling alcohol. 

"As much as I would love that, I don't think it's a good idea" I said 

"I agree" Remus said and kissed my forehead. 

We found a bench next to a lake. Remus sat down and pulled me into his lap. I wrapped my arms around his neck and looked at him. 

We didn't talk. We just looked at each other and caressed each other's skin. I rested my forehead against his and let out a sigh. 

"I love you" 

"I love you too, darling" 

"I still can't believe I am your...fiancée. I probably won't get used to it for a long time" 

Remus chuckled and kissed me.

"Soon to be Mrs. Venus Eileen Lupin" 

"Hey! Don't you want to be Remus John Snape?" 

"Hmm, no. Lupin suits better to the both of us" 

"It does" I grinned and kissed him one more time. 

We continued to talk for about an hour before we got back to the Grimmauld Place. The whole house was dark and quiet, meaning that everyone were already asleep. 

"How are we going to announce it to others?" I asked from Remus.

"We don't have to think about it tonight, let's leave it for tomorrow" 

I smiled and looked from the bed how Remus unbuttoned his white shirt. He left it open and got to the bed, hovering over me. 

"You should get undressed, love" He smirked 

"Hmm, why is that?" 

"Your fiancé wants to make love to you tonight" 

I smirked and pulled him into a kiss.

When the morning came I woke up to feeling kisses over my face. I smiled sleepily and placed my hand on the back of Remus' head, stroking his hair. 

"Good morning, darling" 

"Good morning my lovely fiancé" I giggled, making Remus smile against my neck. "Last night wasn't enough?" 

"it is impossible to get enough of you" 

I blushed and let him have more access to my neck. 

"Can we stay here the whole day?"

"We can, but we should go and eat something" 

"But...you can eat me" I said into his ear, making him groan. 

Remus kissed me before he stood up from the bed. I looked him up and down, frowning at him. 

"Come back to bed, it's cold without you" 

"You need to get up" 

"Why?"

"Breakfast, order meeting-"

"No" I whined "Please, just ten minutes and then we will get up" 

"Nope"

"You are one bad fiancé, you know that?" 

"You actually love me" Remus said and smiled, getting dressed.

"Sadly yes" I joked. Remus threw me his sweater and we both laughed. 

Once we got downstairs it was for the order meeting. Almost everyone were already there. I was quite scared. Scared of father's reaction. Remus made us quickly some breakfast whilst we waited for others. 

"How was your date?" Abby asked me

"It was really good. We really needed that time together" 

"Where did you go?" 

"To a fancy muggle restaurant and then just walked around" 

Before she could say anything, father and Albus stepped into the room. Remus gave me my plate of food and I thanked him. Dad sent him a look before he sat down. 

The order meeting went quietly. When the end was nearing I got more and more anxious. Remus took my hand under the table and hold it. 

"We don't have to tell them if you are not ready" He whispered into my ear.

"No, no,  I want to" 

When Albus announced the meeting has ended, Remus let out cough and told others to wait a little. 

I looked at dad, he was looking suspiciously between Remus and I. 

Remus took my hand and placed it on the table,

"Venus and I got engaged"
