"I wish it was that easy, love"

"You aren't going to do anything then?" I whispered

"You are drun-"

"I know what I'm talking about" I interrupted him "Remus, please just-" I didn't know what to say. I cupped his cheeks and looked into his eyes desperately.

"You have to understand that there can't be anything between us"

"Just say out loud you don't want me" I whispered and took my hands off, tears blurred my vision

"You make things very complicated right now" he said "it's not that I don't want you. We don't know each other at all-"

"Then let me know you Remus"

"I can't" he whispered, pain in his voice "I can't let you too clo-"

"I am drunk, and even I aren't talking bullshit like that" I scoffed "I really hope I won't remember this in the morning"

I pushed past him. He called my name, but I didn't stop, I continued to walk to the Slytherin common room.

I was crying again. I hated myself, hated that I went to bed with Theo, hated that I got attached to Remus, hated everything about this situation.

Before falling asleep, I promised myself to get over him.

Next day, when I drank a potion that made me feel better, I made my way to the Great Hall.

I did remember what happened this night. It pained me.

I looked up to the Head Table, he wasn't there. Maybe he had eaten already or maybe he wasn't arrived yet. I didn't know.

Even though the potion helped, I still felt slightly nauseous. But after eating, I made my way to the Ravenclaw common room as I promised.

"Hi" I whispered "can I come in?"

"Venus?"

"Yes" I chuckled "uh, how are you feeling?" I stepped into the room

"Shit"

"I've got you some thing-"

"You shouldn't have" Abby said but smiled anyway.

"I promised. Anyway, I got you few potions and food"

"Thank you" she said sincerely

"You're welcome" I smiled "I should get going. I'll see you around"

"Thank you again, see you!"

The day went quietly. Absolutely nothing happened. I laid in my bed for most of the day and at some point decided to do my homework.

"You are never going to drink two night in a row again" I mumbled to myself.

On Monday, Lupin wasn't in class. It was dad who taught us. Even though, he has always wanted this position, he didn't fit into it. He was smart and knew what he was talking about, but...being a DADA professor seemed more like Lupin's job.

I stayed behind after the lesson.

"Where's Lupin?" I asked

"He is ill"

"Hm, so I have my night free?"

"Probably"

"Alright"

"Wait" dad called before I could leave. I turned to him and raised my eyebrows "the essay?"

"Lupin is grading it"

"I told you to bring it to me-"

"We'll have a fight. I know very well what you think about them, and you know what I think about them. It's Lupin's class so..."

"I want it on my table" he said. I rolled my eyes and left the classroom.

I had a free lesson so I took the time and traveled down to the hospital wing.

"Hi, is professor Lupin here?" I asked

"Remus just went back to his quarters"

"Oh, okay, thank you"

I closed the hospital doors and sighed. I looked at my watch, I had more than an hour of free time.

I decided to go to the bridge. I casted a warming spell around me and sat down. I lit my cigarette and took a puff.

I was lost in my mind to see a curious black dog walking closer to me.

Once I heard a stick break, I looked to my left. The dog looked ragged and it was so skinny. He hold his snout down and very carefully walked towards me.

"Aye, mut, get away" I swished my hand and tried to scare him away "I am allergic to dogs" I said and got up quickly.

The dog stopped walking and laid down.

"How did you get here anyway?"

He only whined.

"Stay here. I'll get you water and food, nothing more"

I took my bag and quickly walked to the kitchens. I asked for a bottle of water, bowl and some meat.

I quickly ran back to the bridge, making sure no one saw me. I whistled and the dog ran towards me from the end of the bridge. He was probably hiding.

I poured the water into the bowl and laid out the meat for him.

"Okay, eat" I said, holding some distance between us.

I watched sadly how he ate the meat and drowned the water.

"You poor little thing" I whispered.

When he was done, he sat down and looked at me.

"What? You want more?"

He barked

"Shh, dogs aren't allowed in here"

"Fine, I'll get you some more food"

And so it went. I brought him so more food, I got to know that he was a boy. I decided to name him Buddy, he didn't really like that, but I didn't care.

I was there with him for fifteen minutes. He tried to get close to me, but after hundreds of attempts he realized that I didn't want to be near him.

Not that I didn't want, but I just couldn't.

And then I went to lessons.

"Oh, Venus dear, what is it?" Minerva asked when I stayed after her lesson.

"Uhm, I have a question about my grade. What do I need to do-"

"Yes, yes. Do you have time right now?"

"Yes, it was my last lesson"

"Very well, take a seat. Would you like tea?"

"Yes"

Minnie prepared tea for us and put a bowl of cookies between us. I took one and dipped it into my tea.

We talked about my studies and what do I have to do in the next few weeks.

"But tell me, how are you?"

"I'm...good? I don't really know"

"Can I do something for you?"

"I don't think so"

"If there is anything, I am always here for you"

"I know, thank you"

"Have you got any plans for your future?"

"Nope" I sighed "I feel like I am not good for any-"

"Oh hush, you are smart and brave. You have so man-"

"Let's not talk about it, please"

She pursed her lips but nodded. We talked until her new class began.

I made my way back to my dorm, put on my record player and just laid in the bed, thinking about the night.
