Long-awaited talk

"There was a letter for someone this morning, but I did not know who was this man. Venus, maybe it is for you?" Molly said when we were all sitting behind the table at dinner.  

"Uh, what was the name of that man?"

"Theo, if I remember correctly" 

"Oh, yes, that is for me" I smiled. Molly stood up and walked over to a shelf where she had placed the envelope. She handed it to me and I thanked her. 

I opened the letter and read it quietly. I tried to hold in my laugh as he said so much shit about Remus. But he also told me about how him and kids are all missing me and how they would love to spend at least a day with me. 

There were pictures in the envelope as well. I took them out and showed them to Abby and Sirius who were sitting both on either side of me. 

"Who is Theo?" Tonks asked

"A friend" I replied "I travelled with him before...coming here" 

"Oh. So he is a wizard as well?" 

"Yes" I looked at Tonks and then to Remus who had his head lowered and he was just picking his food. He was always talking with Sirius so it was quite weird to be in this silence. Others had seen the weird behavior as well but didn't ask. 

After dinner, we all moved to the living room to just enjoy the company of each other. 

I was sitting on a sofa with Abby, talking, when I saw Remus walking down the stairs and walking to the kitchen, probably getting another glass of whiskey. 

Abby nudged me and I looked at her.

"Go and talk to him" 

"Absolutely not"

"Venus" she said "Don't be a bitch. You care about him, more than you should, go and check wh-"

"He has wonderful girlfriend to check on him"

"You really make my blood boil, just go and talk to him. We both know you want it" 

"He doesn't wa-"

"Venus"

"Fine" I sighed and stood up "It's not a good plan, I am telling you" 

"Yeah, whatever" 

I walked over to the kitchen and leaned against the doorframe, looking at him. 

"Why aren't you joining with us?" 

Remus was sitting behind a table, looking at the full glass in front of him. He just shrugged his shoulders and took a sip.

"Can I join with you?" 

"You have better things to do than sit here with me" He mumbled. I sighed and stepped into the room, taking a seat in front of him. I stared at him, he didn't dare to look at me. 

finally, after a very long time, I got a good look at him. He didn't look that much older, but still. He had worry lines on his forehead, his hair was more gray than I remembered. His hair was also longer than before, he really needed a haircut. 

But Merlin, he was so hot. 

He caught me off guard when he finally looked up at me. He chuckled and shook his head, taking another sip of his whiskey.

"Are we just going to stare at each other? I have no problem looking at you all day" He said and it made me roll my eyes. 

"What is going on, Remus?" 

"Nothing"  he said nonchalantly

"Don't lie" 

"My cheek still burns, wouldn't want another hit" 

"Sorry about that" I said quietly 

"It's fine" 

Remus saw how nervous I got under his gaze. 

"How have you been?" He asked me 

"You've heard" 

"Fine, let's just stare at each other then" 

"I've been good, I think. I was very broken after you left me, but I grew up and realized that you aren't coming back. I got into a quidditch team, played around the world, went on a trip with Theo and his kids, now I am here" 

"Is there a relationship between you and him?" 

"No" I chuckled "there were no feelings between us" 

"Hm"

"Can't say the same for you, though. I am actually really happy that you found Tonks, you know? She ma-" 

"There is nothing between me and her" 

"What" I chuckled, confused my his statement

"Tonks and I are not in a relationship. When I left, I told you I love you, you think I just easily moved on?"

"Yes" I chuckled bitterly "If you would have loved me, you wouldn't have left" I raised my voice a little

"It was your own-"

"Don't come with this bullshit again! You knew I accepted you for who you were. I wasn't in any fucking danger. I never even thought about you hurting me. You know what hurt? You promised me over and over how you would never leave me, and one random day, you just threw away our whole life . That hurt. Not you being a werewolf" 

"And do you have any idea how fucking much I regret that? As soon as I was out of the door, I wanted to run back-

"Then why didn't you?" 

"Because you deserve better than me" 

"That's fucking bullshit"

"I regretted leaving you. I wanted to come back to you, I wanted to send you all the letters and beg you to give me another chance, because I really didn't see my life without you"

"I would have given you the second chance. Remus, I  would still give you the second chance, but I see you have moved on and even now you said in your letter that you didn't mean anything you said" I said quietly. He shook his head and stood up.

"Venus, it was a lie, I haven't moved on, really. The things between Tonks and I- it is nothing, I promise you, no relationship. I would- I would do anything to have the second chance with you. I would do anything to get you back" He said. He really did mean it.

He was now quite literally kneeling next to me, looking at me and hoping for the best.

I swallowed and turned to him. I placed my shaky hand against his red cheek. He closed his eyes at the touch.

"You have to know, that right now  I am not trusting you one hundred percent and it takes a lot of time to trust you again-" 

"I know" 

"But, you need to talk to Tonks. Don't let her get hurt. When you have talked with her, let me know. I also need some time to think about all of this, but I will be waiting for you" 

I leaned down and pressed a kiss on top of his forehead, just like he did when he left me.
