Camille's POV

Oh! My! Gosh! What the hell has happened to me!?! I have furry paws. I am walking on four legs. I have a freaking tail! OMG!!

This can't be real—I'm dreaming! I have to be dreaming. This can't be my real life.

A mirror in the corner of the room catches my attention. As I walk into view of the mirror, and see my reflection all that this is a dream leaves me. I stare at my reflection in the mirror and a slow inferno of rage begins in the pit of my stomach as it builds the longer I look at myself.

What did that bastard do to me? I thought, while staring into the basement mirror, which I'm pretty sure he left for me. When I see him, he's dead!

I'm gonna make him pay for this. Just as I was thinking about killing him here he comes walking down the stairs like nothing's happened.

"It's great that you've gotten your wolf. I was worried you wouldn't get one being only a quarter shifter. Not this soon anyway. Definitely didn't think you'd get a wolf that particular color at that."

I snarled at him.

"You did this to me, I feel like I could really resort to murder right now. And I've usually against violence" I thought.

His smile faded and he frowned at me.

"You're probably upset and confused and have a million things running through your mind." He said.

"Understatement of the god damn century." I thought.

"It'll take time to make sure you fully understand everything there is to know about our world." He started.

All I could think of was how calm and relaxed he seems when I was a  wolf.

He had to have done this to me or had a hand in it nothing else makes sense. And the thought made me so angry. And the more I thought about it the angrier I got and I don't know what overcame me but I really wanted to kill him. And without thinking a menacing growl erupted from me and I slowly stalked towards this man that took the sense of normalcy from me. This man who screwed with my best friends mind. And possibly kidnapped me!

"Not quite," said a voice I didn't recognize said puzzling me. Freezing me mid-step as I advanced towards Kaden.

Great!

Now I'm hearing voices now too.

Kaden shifted towards me drawing my attention and my rage once again.

"Camille, breathe, I know this is all new too you and scary. And I know that you don't know what your doing, your confused and your shifter spirit is using your confusion and channeling it into aggression, you can't let her do that. You have to control your shifter spirit." He said calmly.

All I could think was, "I'm going to wipe that smug ass look off his fucking face."

I lunged at his throat going for blood. Yet before I could get to his throat his eyes changed from blue to green and he caught me by shoulders and somehow held me at bay. A guttural sound erupted from his throat. He then tossed me to the other side of the room creating some space between us.

Before I could lunge at him again he let go a growl that shook the house and that demanded obedience.

"STAY RIGHT THERE!!!" He yelled, the words echoing through my mind.

My body fought to resist the urge to sit like a good little puppy in obedience school.

"Why can I hear him in my mind," I thought to myself.

"You're using your mindlink—" he started.

"YOU CAN HEAR ME?!?!" I yelped internally.

"I can hear you because we are related, we share a blood relation its called a mindlink since your shifter is more in control while in your shifter form the mindlink is broadcasted to those who share a blood relation. But when you're in human form your shifter spirit can open your mind-link between one another with a shared blood relation. Eventually you learn to block others from hearing things your thinking without unintentionally broadcasting every thought that pops into your head whether in human form or shifter form." He explained through the link.

I was too stunned to speak for a moment.

When I finally got myself together I asked, "How do I change back human?"

"It's simple really, just relax your mind and slowly inhale and exhale. It can take some time when you first shift to return to your human form than any other time when you've had practice. So it might take you a while, that norm—" He started, "I see your a fast learner." he continued while turning his head speeding upstairs and zooming back down them tossing me a blanket to cover my body's nakedness.

"Thanks, your pretty fast. Are all shifters that fast?" I questioned him.

"No, just me and possibly three other people."

"Why just you three, why no one else?"

Because hybrids can be exceptional beings. But whether a hybrid becomes stronger than most other supernaturals even though their not a full-blooded supernatural of any race comes down to where your max potential stops and if you train deligently to break past those limits"

"Hybrid, so that means your mixed with something?"

"Yes"

"What?"

"I'm a Dhampyre"

"A whoo??"

"A Dhampyre, I'm half-Vampyre and half-Shifter."

"Who are these other three people?"

"My older twin brother Rayden, your mom, and you."

"Me? How? None of this makes sense? I'm a hybrid thing too?"

"Not a hybrid thing, but you are a hybrid and so is Rayden and your Mom. Whether you'll be as fast as me depends on how your supernatural skills develop. Because if not all your Hyrid supernatural sides develop fully to their extant then you'll be ten times faster than a human but slower than most supernaturals.

"Well, that's depressing"

"It's only a possibility not a fact."

"If I'm going to be a supernatural freak, I'd rather be a badass supernatural freak, not a pathetic excuse for a freak"

"Would you not call yourself that? Your not a freak. Your family"

"You never told me how we're related now that you've mentioned it. Just how are we related? Who are you to me?"

"Sorry but I can't risk answering that right now supernatural ears could always be listening. Although, I'd hear them if they were."

Still never answered my question."

"Don't plan to sweetheart, now come upstairs already, your  clothes are on the bed in the second bedroom with the door open."

Heat began to flush my face I'd forgotten I was only standing in front of this guy who claims to be family in nothing but a blanket. Ugghh!! Man that's so embarrassing. And a little too personal after everything I've recently experienced.
