Lillian's POV

This guy has some balls on him, challenging us. -Athena said popping in my head.

Apparently. Hey, where have you been? It's been radio silent on your end. - I questioned Athena

Taking care of some things, now let's get on with this.- she said excitedly.

I know you're excited about this challenge but I'm putting my fear of losing and being rejected by my family's pack and Jesse is right I have no fighting skills. But it'd be a blow to my confidence if I lose. - I explained.

Trust that I chose you for a reason. Channel that fear and uncertainty in physicality and strength. - she instructed.

Okay- I said.

If you get into trouble, know that I'll be here to help you.- Athena said sincerely

Fur bristled along my skin, canines extended, and a snarl escaped me as I crouched ready to attack.

Thomas took a crouched fighting stance as well.

He slowly crept toward me.

Don't give him any ground, make him enter your danger zone.- Athena coached.

As Thomas slowly entered close-quarters range, I readied myself.

He's going to lunge at you, to try to topple you for a pin. When he lunges toward you, I need you to lunge to the side twisting and swiping him with your claws- Athena stated.

Thomas lunged forward, just as Athena predicted. So I lunged sideways twisting and dug my claws as deep as I could.

Blood dripped from my claws that struck him.

Blood ran down one of his sides staining his shirt.

He ripped off his shirt tossing it to the ground, the wounds began to heal. Soon the claw marks were gone and his skin other than the blood on his body disappeared.

He grinned.

I'm going to wipe that grin off his face.

I know we're doing this on the fly, but you're small so avoid strength contests and focus on being quick. You're small size works in your favor. Lean into your natural survival instincts.- Athena suggested.

Thomas rushed me, causing me to lose my footing.

Shit!

I sprang up before he could pin me.

He clutched the air as he attempted to, as I slipped through.

Nicely done, Lillian.- Athena said proudly.

I charged at Thomas this time.

He was ready and waiting.

DUCK AND SLIDE!- Athena

As he threw a punch at my face, I ducked and slid between his legs spinning quickly sweeping his feet from underneath him.

He landed on his back hard knocking the air out of his lungs.

Kick him with EVERY ounce of strength you have directly in the jaw! - Athena

As I executed her guidance I heard a crack.

A whine and a growl escaped Thomas.

His body began a partial shift transformation. His canines extended, fur bristled through his skin and his nails became razor sharp claws.
