Camille's POV
"Well damn, tell me how you really feel?" I said irritated at his previous comment.
"Can you at least try to watch your mouth, Cam?" He asked sounding equally annoyed.
"What are you my rental dad? Hopefully, I'll see my Dad soon along with my Mom and you won't have to worry about what comes out of my mouth." I said walking away, attempting to get a rise out of him to confirm my theory.
I was baiting him in my irritation, as I was ninety-nine percent sure he was my dad.
He didn't take the bait, or straight up ignored it.
I needed to cool off, so I decided to go for a run again to blow off some steam. I looked around to see Kaden nowhere in sight, and thought 'screw it.' I jogged along the dirt path thinking to myself. Thinking about my Mom and what she is like. What growing up being magical is like. Whether my looks came from her side or my dads side or a good mixture of both. What about my attitude and personality did I get my attitude from her or my Dad.
As I ran my thoughts turned more angry as I wondered as to what reason they would give me up as a child. And why no one bothered to come back for me until now. Obviously someone was keeping an eye on me this whole time since Kaden found me so easily, and apparently knows where I live too. Why did they wait this long? Is there a purpose for going about everything this way? Am I only being brought back because I'm of some use to them now that my powers were coming in that I wasn't before? What's the reason for them not to wanting me then versus now?
The air felt heavy. A low hum throbbed beneath my skin. The trees creaked against the strong wind gusts, leaves started whipping around me in a chaotic spiral. Thunder clouds rolled in lightning flashing as thunderous booms echoed in the distance, the sounds getting closer each passing moment. The beautiful chaos captured my attention. My breath caught. What the hell....
As I watched entranced in its beauty Kaden appeared beside me snapping me back into reality as he asked," Are you planning to stand there dazed as you release a tornado on East Texas, or are you gonna put that out?"
"Huh? Put it out? Are you saying this is my doing?" I asked confused.
"You're part Mage and Fae—looks like you have elemental Powers. Mage's use incantations, spells, or potions. Yet elemental manipulation is a power only a few powerful Fae are born with, rare even. So, seeing as you have no knowledge in the necessary areas as a Mage I'd say your Fae side is awakening. And since a lot of Faes powers are tied to their emotions I'd take a good guess right now and say this is part of your power as and elemental Fae is tied to your emotions right now. Which is what's causing this pre-tornado weather on what's supposed to be a sunny morning. So I ask again sweetie, are you planning on releasing a tornado on east Texas or do you think you can control your emotions and put that out?" He asked pointedly.
"Look, I'm not purposely trying to wreck Texas, okay? I just don't know how to shut it down," I yelled, tears in my eyes as I panicked about hurting unsuspecting bystanders due to my chaotic powers running amuck..
"Calm down, Cam. Try to think of calming thoughts, happy times even. If this was fueled by anger maybe it can be diffused through happy, soothing thoughts." He explained to me I tried to relax and 'think happy'.
"Is it working?" I asked with my eyes closed after what seemed like a few minutes had passed while concentrating.
"No it doesn't seem to be. But don't worry it'll all be under control soon. I'll send for it to be taken care of." He informed me. He pulled out his phone and made a call and stepped away while talking before we both got into the car.
