Kadens kitchen

Camille's POV

Once I had gotten some clothes on, I glanced at the clock noticing it was only 12:38pm. Still plenty time to get some answers.

He knocked on my door, "I'll be in the kitchen I've got food on the stove I'm sure you're starving."

I hadn't realized how hungry I was so caught up in my emotions.

I was starving

"Ok." I said quickly opening up the door.

I stepped into the kitchen, mouth already watering at the aromas. On the stove was steak, macaroni-and-cheese, mashed potatoes with gravy and Texas toast.

"Not to sound racist especially since I'm mixed a mutt and all but, it smells a like a black grandma cooking a Sunday dinner." I said amazed.

"I'll take that as a compliment, I learned all my cooking skills from your mother. Who is melanated " He said chuckling, mmm
"She's always been a great cook."

"So does that mean my moms black?" I asked.
"Yes"

"And my dad?"

"White"

"Uh huh"

"And you are to me again?" I questioned, suspiciously. I was starting to put the pieces together.

The thought hit me like a ton of bricks. He had to be him. My Dad.

"Someone your mother sent to protect you and bring you home safely, you can call me Kaden"

If he was my Dad, then he really was just trying to protect me.

"I prefer Yama" I said,

"Yama is a stage name only good for show for documents when necessary like becoming a teacher, so Kaden please"

"Kaden"

"Thank you"

"Now have a seat, food's almost done."

"Where are the place mats, and tableware?" I asked.

"Place mats are in the bottom left side drawer, tableware would be the top right cabinet, silverware would be in the drawer to the right of the place mats." He instructed.

"Thanks, I'll set the table." I offered.

As I set the plates down on the placemats I noticed the steaks were cook practically rare and blood was oozing out.

Gross. But the aroma definitely still made my mouth water.

"You just lost all your brownie points" I said looking at the steak.

"It may look strange to you, but you'll love it, especially your hybrid side of you." He said.

"Before you dismiss the steak listen to your bodies reaction to it. Close your eyes, close them, now inhale. Doesn't that smell make your mouth water, and if you pay attention you can smell the difference between the blood and the meat. Doesn't that smell of blood make your jaw hurt thinking how great that blood'll taste." He said.

To my surprise everything he said was true. My mouth was watering, my jaw did hurt, and even more to my surprise fangs too big for my mouth exploded in my mouth and I could smell the difference between the blood and meat and it both excited me and scared me.

"How do -" I started, then changed my mind about asking the question.

"How do you wh-" he started, as he watched me I managed to retract my canines back to their original size.
