Camille's POV
"Well, I've had a pretty great life growing up and I was able to share it with my best friend Sky. I just started my Senior year, and sadly that's pretty much it because I had a simple boring life. I have a great mom-er adoptive mom-sorry." I said realizing too late it might hurt my bio mom's feelings.
"Much to my dismay, for all intents and purposes that woman, the one who raised you, into the young lady you are is your Mother. I could never replace her. I just hope moving forward we can develop a very similar bond." She said looking hopefully.
"I hope so too...I still can't believe it's you, or that he's my real dad" I said looking at both my Mom and Dad.
"But I have to ask, why did you give me away? Why didn't you come back for me earlier? Why now?"
"Sweetheart, first I want you to know that it was not a decision made lightly. We made sure you went to a good woman who had tried for years in vain to have a child she was so kind, we knew you would have a good home, and we had people from our Kingdom...Your Kingdom, watching from afar to make sure you were safe every now and then as much as we could so as not to draw attention to our enemies you had survived. As they would try to either use you to blackmail the kingdom or to harm you..." She said as tears streaked down her face as she paused.
"So to answer your question, we had to make the decision to put your life and safety above our own selfish desires to keep you due to my evil twin brother," my Dad said picking up where my Mom left off. "Do you remember when I said besides me, your mother, and possibly you being the strongest supernaturals alive along with one other person. That other person would be my fallen older twin Rayden. He also has unlocked the full potential of both his supernatural sides. He and I are very equal in strength which makes him hard to beat, yet easy to predict."
"What do you mean when you say 'fallen'?" I questioned.
"He has been shunned from our kingdom due to his cruelty to humans and intent to enslave humanity. He's the one that sent two groups of his rogues after you. I dispatched the first group before they made it to your house the night you left the house with Sky and her brother. And the second group we encountered at my house. He and his followers are a very real threat so he has to be stopped but the problem is I could never defeat him in the past."
"Why not?"
"It's not that I don't want to but because he and I are equal in strength I can never get the upper hand to defeat him as we also think alike in battle, we always end up mirroring each other's attacks. Twin telepathy at its worst."
"Camille, do you remember anything that happened in the house before we got to the Kingdom?"
"I remember you being captured. How did you get out by the way?"
"So you don't remember anything past that?"
"Why?"
Both my Dad and Mom looked at each other, a knowing look passed between the two before both gave a barely discernible nod of agreement.
"Don't do that, I can tell you're communicating about me...why do you want to know what I remember?"
"Sorry sweetie, but your dad and I often talk telepathically as we are bonded together from the blood mating ritual, we often communicate likewise. You'll understand if you find your mate."
"You could have left out the ritual part. And I don't even want to think about the whole mate thing, especially with you two. Anyways, now that I'm here I guess the biggest question I have is what now?"
"Well, for starters we must introduce you to our world as the princess and heir to the Kingdom-"
"Princess?! Kingdom!?"
